i put the wrong wattage lamps in, and popped one of the three legged black components on the pcb (gets really HOT) now some lamps work and some are really bright. machine still runs ok despite this.

its either a dead thyristor or transistor.

Theyre basically like taps that open and close to let voltage through in drips.

They always run hot, no matter what you do as theyre under constant strain..

personally Id repair the mpu, as maygay have disowned m1a, infact come to think of it its repair or bin.

How about dumping the roms and taking some pics?

mike...
thanks for the offer, heres how it is done..
First youll need to visit poundrun.com and look in the "fruit assasins layout arena"

here there is a thread that reveals all on the best way to photo a machine..

Then theres a few people (trusteds I may add) that you can send the rom cart to so that it can be dumped..

Its very easy and very painless, and will aid the future of fruit machine emulation :)

If you need to know more you can email me aluren_cat@yahoo.com

Thanks :)
