The way that message was written concerns me a little...
What did you want to track them down for?

I've got this softwear on my Orange SPV c500 that tracks tells me where my phone is.
You can even have it as a forum signature, saying where you have been all day.

A slight drawback though is it's still in its BETA stages at the moment

(well I thought it was funny)

Sad thing is liverpool, the toe-rag may not have lost out much...
If the phone was resellable (ie had some value) then it could still be sold, just because a network blocks a phone does not make it unusable.
There are ways (highly illegal, and risk a 5 year jail sentence, but virtually impossible to actually catch anyone unless they are a total idiot) to unblock many phones, so they are unbarred from being "stolen", or they could sell it abroad, to a country that does not share the uk list of stolen barred phones.....
As for tracking ppl down, depends where they live, or if they are a active poster, or paranoid about privacy etc.
Americans are the easiest to trace..
UK people can be harder.

no idea if it good for trascking stolen phones as
1. the phone must be on
2. the prog must be running
3. must be connected to gprs, no good if you have no credit, or put another networks sim in.

It's all off the electoral register - When you fill in your electoral register form of who lives in your house, you get the option to go on one register or both. The one is only open to credit agencies etc. However if you don't specify the limited list is sold on to anybody who can afford it. The data is in the public domain so to speak. I am on the electoral register for the purposes of credit only. VOTING can go jump as all the parties are the same clowns in different shirts.
Identify theft is made easier by the readiness of the data, although it makes verifying data easier too.. It's the identity cards that I'm worried about.. I don't want anybody to know half the stuff I get up to or do.. my business is my business. And why should anybody else have the ability to access my medical details or BIOMETRIC data off my card?? All my measurements and details are my personal data.. I only hope the cost of the cards kills the whole thing.. Knowing politicians though they will blame the cost on Al-Queda and go to war with Cumbria just coming up to a general erection so that the incumbant is returned to power due to the marketing value of war to them.
I am getting tired again.. Sorry all my waffling happens way too often..
Apologies...

No wonder your feeling tired James....lol
Mind you, I reckon all MP's suffer from general erections at some stage.
