For me the best machine i played in the wild was Super Jester, i played this when i was a kid and it is still my favourite machine. It was in an arcade at a caravan site i used to go to, unfortunately it was removed a long time ago.
It is also the machine that started me off making layouts.

Recent times has to be Revolution/Battle Axe/Golden Dragon for gameplay.
All in all I have to say I'm still fond of some of the first games I ever played - Masterspy, Blue Streak, Win Strike, Lucky Lady...all 2p play.
Can't go back. Can't go back...

can't remember what it was called when I was only about 9 in an arcade in Great Yarmouth and won the cashpot (about £50).. I've been looking for it since.. Maybe it's also in those Peruvian secret place now.. The best machine I actually know the name of is Rio Grande 50p a go (£250 repeat jacpot - I had £1000 off it once)- I love it - -- just way too expensive.. Unfortunately.. And way too new to be emulatable in the near future

I find that I can play a machine on one site which is very good but when played somewhere else at the same stake and jackpot it is crap!
Probabily the %age! I wish it was fixed at 90% during manufacture, perhaps the industry wouldnt be in the state it is now...

A must was the Cop and Robbers on the way to Bilbao via ferry......£250 jp...tried forcing after it 'backed' from the first coin, some £400 late not a sausage, still the holiday was good--and so's the machine.

For me it has to be a JPM Rota-Note in a pub in London about 15 years ago, which gave £1 in credits for every 20p coin inserted :-)
Seriously though, it's got to be Super Exchanges Unlimited for me - the MPU3 version of course, not the recent re-issue - which was dire with a capital dire.
Also Fortune Numbers, Autoroute, Cops & Robbers (original £3 jackpot), StakeUp, Lynx....

I love Skeggy machines too to be honest, however on a family holiday in Great Yarmouth as a kid I used to hang about in the arcade a bit and I caught the engineer there fiddling the machine and pocketing the money. I made it clear I had noticed and he kept giving me money and free credits and I went home loaded ... Good Holiday!!!

P.C.P Money Line for me. 2p play. And an old 2p Kings and Queens. I am very sure this MPU 3 was Barcrest and not a conversion as I never did see any Barcrest logo on it. I would love to see even a picture of it again.

I found a 20p/6 quid 777 heaven in Southport that must have been fooked as it nudged EVERY game I emptyed it of about 40 quid and about 25 quid tokens, I got the geezer to refill it and emptyed it again. as soon as it finsihed paying out the 2nd time, the guy came over and turned it off - I got about 90 quid cash and about $35 quid tokens in total (as far as I remember, I didn't win shit with the tokens afterwards !)

My favourite machines were the jpm's of the late 90's Red Alert, Impulse, Hot Shot, Ceasars Palace, 5 liner, Arcadia just because the game play was brilliant and mainly relied on skill rather then luck.
Well I jumped into the river

I'd say my favourite machine in the wild would still have to be Monty Pythons Flying Circus, on £5 or £15 JP [not a big fan of the £25 rechip on it
].

Any Sp.Ace machine will do me but if I had to pick a favourite, it would be 'Grand Prix'. Only ever saw one but it was in my fave arcade in Hull, SunSpot.
£20p play £4.80JP. Very similar to Open The Box but with a Grand Prix theme. IIRC, it played the 'Alfred Hitchcock' tune whilst gambling and more of a rumble from low to high pitch when the 'Watch For My Hidden Extras' came on.
£2.20 for 3 x yellow double bars would be exchanged for an almost certain £4.80 from the 'Nudge Quick' feature.

You can *play* a live £6 Jackpot Twilight Zone at The Buzz.
What? An old Sp.Ace machine in an inland arcade?
Yes. For real. The Buzz, 4 Hales Street.
Bencrest, have you fallen foul of The Slotto yet?
