Well, its finally here, looks like we are going to get the best version to, hopefully no dead pixel problems like the US. Although the screen isn't supposed to be as good as the jap model, i dont really mind, as all the defects will be fixed like ejecting the umd discs across the room.
Going to pre order mine soon, the best deal looks to be www.play.com, its on their homepage. You get the value pack with the memory stick headphones carry pouch etc. and you get a free donnie darko movie and a play.com screen wipe.
The games look pritty awsome for it too, ridge racer especially, and ill have to get medievil, it looks great.
Theres fantasic looking things coming out for it to, software to convert your dvds to watch on it, a web browser, you can even watch tv on it soon.
All the stuff this baby can do and its only slightly more than a portable dvd player.
I wonder if a fruity emulator could be made for it.

You would still be better off getting a v1.5 off ebay. All the homebrew works on it and there are plenty of other benfits
I cannot see v2.0 running any homebrew code for a very long time

1.5 can run homebrew and a lot more
2.0 has had all the loop holes closed up but they did give you a nice web browser in its place.
One thing to watch out for is new games have an update option to v2.0 or 1.52 built in. This will stop home brew from running of course but some nice people have brought out ISO loaders that remove the update code

dosent really matter as all versions will get cracked eventually, like they brought out those slim ps2s to stop hdds being installed but that got cracked.

slightly different though, the ps2 slim was still the same basic board which the mod chips worked with no problems. The main problem with the PSP is nobody can get code running to downgrade the OS because of the digital signing and if they could get it running there would be no need as they would just give the homebrew the same digital signing as the downgrader

what i was trying to say is evenually they will be able to crack the 2.0 firmware.

Mine will last forever, load my games off the memory stick. Been playing the new F1 game thats due for release on launch day. Not too bad but not really that realistic as you can just crash into the walls to stop. Been looking to buy that one for months but $ony have had their head so far up their arses they have not actually released anything decent in the US so far. I would say 50% of the UK release titles are brand new titles and not just US rehashes.

And newer stuff is available on newsgroups
Graphics wise its almost PS2 quality but because the screen is smaller it does show on some of the textures. But for Snes, megadrive and other old system emulation its spot on
