Has anybody seen a Harry Potter fruit machine yet?? You seem to get Lord of the rings and Austin Powers etc.. But no Harry Potter.. Do you think J K Rowling is stopping it?? I would bet three Dumbledores what the Jackpot would be..

voodoo games release a machine called jack potter which was a vague harry potter clone.
i think the proper license would cost a fortune.

How did Bell fruit get the licence for the Lord Of the rings machines then, surely the licence for these three machines are just as expensive as a Harry Potter licence would cost, as it is almost as popular.

I don't think people like Barcrest want to waste money on licensing.
I mean, BFM got the licensed art & sound for Bullseye, and thats great if you want another bloody Grand Blaster Cash clone.
Barcrest tend to narrowly avoid licensing, like their new 'obviously Space Invaders' machine, which is called something close to Space Invaders, but which will cost them nothing at all.

they probably paid loads for it but there are only so many licenses companies can buy due to the expence.
i would assume the harry potter license would be one of the most expensive lisences out there.
barcrest paid an absolute mint for the 1 year elvis license.

I think BFM only do it because they produce rushed licensed machines with half-hearted attempts at artwork.
Just look at LOTR - FOTR and Snake Rattle and Roll. I think SR & R was a FAR better looking machine, the sounds on LOTR were pretty awful IMHO, and the art looked like it took about 5 seconds... same with stuff like I'm A Celebrity.
Mind you, can't fault their Monopoly machine, never thought BFM could make a professional looking machine. I bet they showed about 100 varients of the art to Hasbro before they let them use it. A company like Hasbro won't have their name cheapened by a shite machine

you would also get loads of parents complaining saying it was encouraging their children to gamble as theoretically harry potter is more for children than the over 18`s that are meant to be playing fruities

Yeah... Top shout. But how about The Simpsons and games like that. The Simpsons are cartoon bassed which younger ones like, It could be argued it is for adults too... But plenty of adults like the Harry Pothead stuff.you would also get loads of parents complaining saying it was encouraging their children to gamble as theoretically harry potter is more for children than the over 18`s that are meant to be playing fruities

I read today that J K Rowling won't let them publish ebooks or audio books on line of Harry Potter - so that might explain it, she was a hippy at one time wasn't she.. So probably totally against Fruitys and won't let them make one... Kids can play fruit machines in all service stations and most seaside arcades as long as they are £5 jackpot or below..

Y'know, you've just named a machine I hate the design of.
BFM -
Change the goddamn font between machines. At least make it look like you have simply cut the board and trails from one machine and plonked them onto new artwork.
Also, Pony Express has no visible background art, which is a disappointment.

What I would have is a nice square lapper at the bottom and the disk above it.
All the columns would be either side of the lapper.
There would be a nice cowboy scene in the background!
What do u think?
