I have been using the MFME 1 for creating layouts, but have a problem with MFME 2
I simply cannot get it to open anything other than a dat file when looking to load the blank.res.
The file extension option only displays files of type dat, unlike MFME 1 which lets you specify a wildcard.
Anyone else have this problem? I uninstalled the Fruit Machine Wizard, downloaded it again and MFME2 still insists on only allowing the loading of a dat file.

res files are not used on mfme v2 only the older version.. try loading blank.res in mfme 8.75 then saving it as blank.dat..then mfme v2 will open it.
