... Don't be stupid :)

All you are doing is leaving yourself subject to legal action from the manufacturers themselves, and I am doing everything possible to have sites that sell these ROMs taken offline.

You CAN'T sell that for which you do not have the copyright. If P2P has shown anything, it is that sharing stuff for free is not the end of the world, but selling pirate material leaves you open to legal action.

If it comes to it, I would be more than happy to do whatever it takes to have people that run these sites taken offline, be it through repeated requests to ISPs for breaching their T&Cs of service, or through whichever hosting company has been used.

If anyone wants to add anything, that is fine.

I'm going to be trying to get as many of these CDs off eBay as possible. Not because of any legal implications that they may have, but simply because they are profiting for other peoples hard work. If the authors decided to sell the emulators I would support them, but these are people taking the piss out of what emulation stands for and I for one will not tolerate it.

Oh, heres an example site.

http://www.fruit-mac...info/index.html

I'll be aiming to get this site taken offline ASAP, simply to 'test the water'.

Before you think I am being a total bastard, I've asked [using the 'contact us - we reply within 24 hours' option] politely but firmly for them to remove any content regarding FME from the site. The ball is in their court, no reply within 24 hours, I endeavour to have them taken offline.

No, I'm not trying to have Fruit Emu monopolise the FME arena. Don't forget people, downloads from here are free :)

The machines in the pictures are [and in the email I sent last night I did mention that all the machines shown were Scorpion 4 & Scorpion 5]..

Cop The Lot
Hit Shot
Snakes & Ladders
Hulk
Lockbuster
LOTR [FOTR]
Prize Is Right
Royle Banker
Tubular Bells

and

Snake Rattle & Roll
Crazy Fruits Down Under.

Mind you, person that put the site together doesn't even seem to have a working 'pay now' option...

I can't believe people are so mean spirited. Having just done a dx for the first time, I realise the hours of patience you need to get even my first effort up and going. The reason I like this scene is because the people do what they do in a spirit of comradeship and sharing.

I look forward to doing many more dx's and I would hate to think some cheeky beggars were having the audacity to make money out what is intended to be shared for free. You're right Bencrest, this is the sort of atrocious behaviour that can ruin the objectives of places like this site.

(Which, actually while we are on the subject, I wouldn't mind paying a subscription for if helped cut out those profiteering and got some income for the site.)

Go get 'em Bencrest, and give them a sock on the nose from me!

:-)

Although I don't agree with people selling on Ebay etc after the work we put in, however, this IS how I found this website, from a disk I brought off of Ebay.

Also I have selected machines I'm not meant to (as I'm sure loads of others have too)
Infact my FIRST layout was removed as it was empire (oops) :)

I have to agree that it is wrong (and illegal) to sell the emulators, roms, dx's etc.

However, it is also wrong (and illegal) to give away copyright material (whether it's being charged for is completely irrelevant). All Roms on this site are copyrighted. Almost all dx's on this site are copyrighted.

Legally, I don't think there's much difference between what we do here at fruit-emu and what these t0ssers are doing by selling the stuff. Personally, I think theres a world of difference between them and fruit-emu, but then I'm not a judge.

Regardless of how we justify it, we're also breaking copyright laws.

Hi reelbruce,

You can donate to Fruit-Emu...this assists in the upkeep of the site.

Typing in Fruit Machine on ebay, and its hard to actually FIND a real fruit machine inbetween the emulator cd's, keys and guaranteed tips.

It annoys the hell out of me that ppl deliberatly break the very idea that the FME is based upon.

However, the other point is quite correct about using ROMS - Even though they are over 3 years old.

Weve had a bad couple of seasons :o ....

Just need the wright management in place ...

Everyone was dumbfounded when souness was appointed god knows where that one came from , Give him 3 months into next season and hell be gone ..

Hes just a bridge to better things ... IE Shearer Management ..

The clubs just buying time while shearer takes his bagdes , Expect a mediocur start to next season , souness will go , Shearer and beardsley at the helm we will be unstoppable ...

Once the fans get behind the management (we are hard to plz) The club does amazing ... IE keegan not the best manager but we rocked under him as the fans addored him..

Ill take your blows for now .. But youll be eating your words by Mid next season ....

Well be back Top 4 .... :)
