Hi im new to fruit emulation i have downloaded mfme 6.1 and started to enjoy the games, im ok when i download a zip file then extract and then open it, but i noticed some dont download as a zip file then i cant open it what do i do, some please help

Hello and welcome to the site 
Some of the downloads might be RAR files instead of ZIP files. You'll need to download winrar to unpack these, and then you should be OK.

I think he means that some files download as text files? (I get the same problem sometimes) If this happens I have started right clicking the download link, and clicking "Save target as" < which then asks you where to save the ZIP file to.

Will this then affect the amount of layouts you can download in any 24 hours?

Right clicking the download link, and clicking "Save target as" might get you banned somehow, as you're trying to bypass the download limits.

Also, some won't open in 5.1 or 6.1 as they are only supported by other emulators like JPeMu or BFMulator.
