is there anyway of making the layouts fit my screen im using a laptop?

Need more info.  What version of MFME are you using?   You should be using either V5 or V6.  'Shrink to Fit' is usually a default preference.   

 

In either case if you go check out preferences within mfme it can be checked.

In mfme, go to file/preferences, there you will find a shrink to fit option.
