What a bloody farce, surely the FIA should have tried harder to sort it out.
Building the chicane to help michelin would have been the right decision and it would not have been a significant disadvanage to the bridgestone runners.
But now we have a six car race with only 2 having a reasonable chance of winning, and thousands of fans left disapointed and wanting their money back.
This (although funny to watch) is not good at all.
What do you guys think?

They had enough time to sort this farce out. It nearly looked like there were going to be less then 6 cars in the race, Schumacher almost took Barrichello out of the race.
This fiasco has been interesting, I am looking forward to the aftermath of things to come.

I've been enjoying watching clueless Americans who should keep their ill-educated opinions to themselves
It's made compulsive viewing, but this is what happens when you make far too many pathetic rules and have the sport effectively controlled by Ferrari.

One of the cars was also smoking coming off the grid so we could conceivably have a 4 car race now.

Nine teams demand Indy chicane
With less than an hour to go before the start of the US Grand Prix, all of teams with the exception of Ferrari have said they will only race if a chicane is inserted to slow the cars ahead of the banked Turn 13.
Fingers crossed that the old Sods Law kicks in before the last lap and both Ferraris retire

Well what a load of tripe that was.
Should never have been allowed to get this far. The fia were wrong for not building the chicane but i think Ferrari need to answer for some of the issues. They were the only team not to agree to pulling out of the race and because of that the fia started quoting rules of an unfair advantage if they put a chicane in.
All crap in the end

Now what if that had been the Championship decider??? Or better yet... last season, and Farari was included in the teams that couldn't race, what would have happened then?

BERNIE ECCLES CAKE.....................
need I say more??????
I am just glad my £200+ Ticket is for Silverstone!
FIA should alter the track?........should Tyres not be upto the job?......after all it was said 'we sent the wrong ones'.............which goes to the rule of One set!
Does michelin not know the track.............its been there a few years now..okies new surface but.....are they that 'on-edge'?

The FIA have published some of the letters from Michelin to them and their replies at www.fia.com
It appears that Michelin made the main balls up, but then couldn't agree on a sensible alternative that would avoid overpunishing the teams for Michelin's error.
To be honest, I've been expecting this kind of squabble for a while, and IMHO they're all stubbon asshats.
