
Strange bridge wire?

Hi there just taking out a scorpion 4 motherboard and it has a wire soldered onto the back going to one of the game card pins.... does anyone know what it's for?

Yes it routes the battery voltage up to the game card so the game can monitor it.

Thanks...i did notice the game card has a battery on it? I've desoldered the battery on the main board and I'm saving it. When I reuse it reckon I should remove the wire?

Don't think it is just a wire, if i remember rightly, there is a cut track on the main mpu that goes with the mod.

Ok will look at the tracks too. I think I'd like to in mod it so if anyone knows anything more please let me know

Think I've found the break...on the back of the board? Anyone know more about this? Thanks

As Matty suggested, you have a Section 240 Scorp4 board! You should find the wire and two cut tracks on the back of the board!! Section 240 boards are backwards compatible with older non-S240 machine... All to do with the new rules and regs bollocks!!
