i've got a 900mhz pc, just formatted with a fresh install of XP on it. it has no internet connection yet (it's not the PC i'm posting this message on!).

every layout i load into mfmev2 freezes after double clicking on the .gam file. the program gets the white border at the top and eventually windows says the program isn't responding.

any ideas why this is happening? i've obvously tried restarting, reinstalling etc but still nothing.

just an update. i dont know whether it's a system spec issue but i can load in basic layouts no problem - just not the ones with all the graphics etc

Hi Chris...

Hurtand and I were just talking about this thread, I asked his opinion on possibles and the first thing that came up was a spec issue.....appears now this is the case as you can run classics with no problems.

Agreed, although you MAY find that if you leave the window long enough the layout will load sucessfully. IMHO the main problem would be RAM, you'll need at least 128mb and I'd seriously recommend at least 256 for it to load correctly!

my pc is 800mhz with 364mb of ram. all the BFMulator roms work fine - just the dx ones in the mfm emulator.

Before I say anything on this thread Chris, I have gotta say I am by far no expert on PCs but I tend to agree with Bencrest on the memory thing, last week I had an 866kz with 640 Ram memory and I still sometimes had problems with some of the fruit machine downloads, this week got 3.6gz etc etc and the damn fruities run like they are possessed!!! This may be a silly thing to say but I first installed the program for all 3 fruit machine emulators and then simply downloaded the file for MFMEv2.0 and overlaid it into the same folder as the old MFME and had no problems, hope this helps.

The spec argument is bollocks johnnyafc runs a P III 450 and mfme runs perfect IMO it depends on the insuruction mix needed for the emulation.
