Poll: Cabinet Build Forum Section (24 member(s) have cast votes)

Would you like to see a Cabinet Build section in the MFME forum

  1. Yep, it can't hurt and would be good to keep info on this in one place (23 votes [95.83%] - View)

    Percentage of vote: 95.83%

  2. No, it makes it difficult to find stuff. Rather just keep it the way it is (1 votes [4.17%] - View)

    Percentage of vote: 4.17%

  3. Who the hell are you? You've been here 5 minutes and already suggesting changes? (0 votes [0.00%])

    Percentage of vote: 0.00%

I was just wondered if it would be worth having a Cabinet Build section under the MFME emulation section of the site?

What do people think?

My thinking was that it would keep all stuff relating to "home" cabinets in one section and, as I know there's at least 5 members either building or have built a cabinet, it might be useful to have a repository for relevant info?

I think it is a good idea mate, would make sense to keep all the resources and topics together.  Certainly gets my vote.

i definately would help. i think if half the people saw how easy it actually is they would be giving it a bash.

i can do any vid or explanation anyone wants to help out.

i think people that want a cabinet but havent got a clue how to build one can easily convert some old fruit machine cabinets rather than build one from scratch. granted thought if you build your own cabinet you can accomodate what you want.

mine is a bit tight for space when i play club emulations.

I think you had described the problems Im facing - don't know where to start  - I also want to build a coin pusher (should be easy) - but don't have a clue on how to make a motor work - you can't tell i work in an office - can you!

Coin pushers aren't too bad. I made a few with the K-Nex motor as a kid, albeit they weren't put together etc, but the basic concept is a slow motor with n odd shaped wheel on it that pushes the tray out, and the tray spring loaded to pull back if that makes sense?

EDIT: +1 for a cab section

I'd say no, maybe a sub section within the real machines technical support section, as we can't even get a resource's section for emulation creation let alone a cabinet building section.
But each to their own.

Isn't the resource section the Gallery on here?   It's fairly organised though maybe it could do with a proper section too.  Can't you create a poll?

Anyway surely any creative and fme related project should have it's own section to navigate, there is a lot of interest in the cab builds at the minuite and to have it all in one place is definitely the way forward.

Even a sub-section would work IMO.

A sub section was really what I was meaning. So, under MFME, we'd Forthcoming Releases etc and Cabinet Builds. Or something along those lines :)

I think this is an over-whelming majority and, as it's been a week now, I think most people who are going to vote will have voted.

Anyone know who the main mod is of the site and I'll ask them if it's possible to add a sub-section for cabinet builds and related content under the MFME banner?

That argument does not have equivalence to this particular request.

Besides which I've raised queries and concerns related to the technicalities and necessity of having such a section, and they've never been addressed to my satisfaction.

Many thanks for setting this up.

Is there any chance of having the new threads in here also on the portal front page - they don't seem to be appearing.

Again tho, thank you. :)

Hi,

the build cabinet section is a very good idea, since MFME 5 with the active led button and full screen playing make a new futur of MFME.

Thank Wizard and all layouts creator for the great job you made.

Eric
