If any one uses PSP8 can you tell me how to fix my problem

When going round the out line of (in the case NUDGE 1) when I save it, it doesn't just save the image I've outlined... It save it as i've oulined it with a box??? clearly not what I'd selected

Once I can sort this little problem I'll be nearer to releaseing DX's of JPM's MegaBucks, Coliseum Cash and Red Arrow in MFMEv2. The classics are ready, being tested and my poor spelling is being ironed out. :-)

Anyone know what to do? Cheers

Make your image a little larger by the Square above lasso.save as a BMP 24 bit....

Paint (using MS paint) what you want transparent Bright Green but ensure the bottom left pixel is covered and theres now overlay to the next image.

Save as an 'OFF' image.

Now use lasso and omni to brighten the image as an 'ON; image but you must not go over the green you painted.

In edit on the Emu convert the image to a graphic and ensure Transparent and Graphic are checked.

Is this what's being asked?

I think what he means is that the image has a 'border', like a 1 pixel wide line around it, when all he wants is the bit he cut WITHOUT the border.

Not having used PSP in a while I'm afraid I can't really help :(

Maybe Google will be of some use?

Sorry djgaryc,

But I read your post that you'll be nearer to releasing a DX.

Thats what confused me you see, as you know you don't need to cut an image to DX as any overlayed images are transparent anyway if painted green...or am I missing something here?

in PSP 8 use the tool option window and select freehand then using the mouse trace round the image slowly(holding the left mouse button down) . then CTRL C,(copy) CTRL V (paste as new image). Viola.....

When I did Your Lucky Knight I cut all of the lamps from a BMP called, unusually enough, YLK - Background - Cutting Lamps v1.bmp.

Best reason I can come up with is that by cutting rather than copying you can avoid having to make things transparent - as long as the squares you cut don't go over any areas already cut :)... if that makes any sense :)

The only way to save it as a transparent selection is as a psp. or psd file if you save it as a bmp or jpg it will have a default background added (usually the background colour)...if you want to use this as an overlay on existing artwork use the save as psp (paintshop pro) or psd (photoshop) options...

There are several ways to lamp and construct a layout....i use 4 diffrent methods for lamping, depending on the quality of artwork, or photographs...Omni, Dodge,Overlay,Brightness/contrast, and in extreme cases a combination of all 4.

Let me try and explaine better

I have traced very slowly around the GREEN NUDGE 1. Once it has the slected the area I have traced I copy and paste as a new image...

Here's the problem. In stead of pasting just the green NUDGE 1 it pastes the red background from the origional too. You can see that in the attached pictures on Adydb reply. What it should be doing is pasting the green nudge 1 only leaving the chequered background so when I save it only the green nudge 1 image is visable

Hopes that's clearer??? I'm hoping it was just a setting I can change

only saves as that as a psd or psp file or it applies default background colour, wether it be red, white or black.so if you save the files as a psp file then open it up again to reuse it it should be a chequered background with an outlined Nudge 1, floating on the background.

Nope doesn't work... The red background is the colour of the machine. It's actually the background from the flyer itself.

It doesn't make sense. It use to do what I want it to do before my system was restored. I had to re-install PSP

Got it working... You'll notice no background behind with the green nudge 1.

Wont turn the computer off now till I finish the first DX. Just incase it doesn't work again. Ha

image is in BMP still so you will need to download
