My pie factory now blasts out whatever music I feel like listening to :) its got
its own cd player inside :)

Dead easy to do for any mpu 5 machine, here is how you do it...

DISCLAIMER:
Do it at your own risk of course, if you dont feel confident, dont do it!
Dont blame me if you blow something up (yourself, the house, the cat, the machine!) But it works great on my machine.
BE CAREFUL!!!!!

switch of the machine,
carefully unplug the audio connector from the mpu 5 board
The top of the connector, if it is like mine should be detachable,
to give you access to the IDC connectors inside.

Get a old headphone lead, or similar, that will fit in the line out or headphone
socket of a little portable cd player, or radio.

Chop the end of the lead off (not the end that plugs into the socket!)
Seperate the wires, so you have the ground wire, and the left / right
wires.

Connect the ground wire to pin 5
Connect the Right wire to pin 7
Connect the Left wire to pin 8

I just pushed the wires into the top of the idc connector with a small screwdriver, as the wire fits in between the grooves it chops through the insulation and makes contact with the wire inside.

Double check you have put everything into the right pins (the key pin, which is blocked up is pin 6, so the connector should be 1,2,3,4,5=ground,6=blocked off, 7=right,8=left) leave any other wires in the connector alone, as they are already in use for the speakers etc. Double check you have not shorted anything out.

Put the top back on the connector.

Carefully Plug it back in to the mpu.

Plug the other end of your new cable into the line-out (or headphone socket, but make sure the volume is low.)

Tuck the cable into the machines harness, so its out of the road, and does not get stuck in the reels or anywhere else.

check you have left nothing in the machine, and the lead is still ok, no loose wires etc.

Switch on the bandit.
Switch on the cd player or radio, so music would be playing out of the headphones if they were in use.

Enjoy music piped through your bandits speakers :)
Pretty good quality too, and you can still hear the original sounds from the machine when it is playing.

If using a headphone socket, you can slowly try turning the volume up till you get the right level, but dont go to fast, as you may overload the amp in the machine, so take it slow, and stop if it starts to distort the sound at all.
