Ok so on further inspection and tests with / without game card installed I need a scorpion 4 motherboard section 240 type. If anyone can point me in the direction of a site where I can buy or if anyone has one they can sell me it would be much appreciated. Please let me know

You can modify a normal scorp 4 very easily to become a sec 240 board. It involves cutting one track and link wiring another. Search this forum for info I'm sure it's been posted here before with pics. Very easy

Thanks for the reply the board I have has extra black square circuit so wasn't sure if the "fix" was possible? The boards I seen are up to 2004 but mine is 2007!! Can you recommend someone that can do the dirty work and charge me for it?

Although i'm not certain, I'm pretty sure that it won't matter which board you use, they should all work, black squares or not. Also note that a non sec240 board should still work in machine where it would normally have one, you will just get an error on boot which clears on its own.

Here is the mod. Look at post #4.

Its really easy to do as long as you have very minor soldering iron skills. Just 2 blobs of solder and cut through a track on the underside of the board.

Funnily enough the board i have already has this in place! Will try the 2004 board and fingers crossed it will work (with the error) then will try the fix. Will confirm when working for anyone in future who wants to do this

It because the link takes you to the MPU Mecca - a different site to this - and you have to be a member and logged in on there to view attachments.
