Ok, so I've just found out that rather than the deadline of 18th of May I was originally given for the 3 assignments I have to do, I now have until the 3rd of May.

Yes, I know, I should have them done anyway, but if I'm going to be totally honest I think I spend far too much time on forums and stuff and not enough time on work

Well, lets cut a long story short....

I'm going to have to take a 'breather' from FME for a while. By a while, I mean anything up to 2 months [my last exam being on 22nd June]. No point beating about the bush, I think it's pretty obvious I have a 'forum addiction', and am going to have to go cold turkey from today onwards.

Also I really would like to get in Uni this year, even if just to get me away from the swamp, and to get away from my parents [obviously!]
The one I'd really like to go to will need 2 Bs and a C [although I can do a 4 year version with 3 Cs]... and considering the work [or lack of it] I've done this year, I need every second between now and the exams....

I'm sorry to the mods and admins as I've given the impression recently that I have all the free time in the world to help with the site, when in all honesty I reckon I'm going to have to lock myself in my bedroom with a stack of textbooks starting later tonight.

I'm also sorry about not having released layouts and stuff that people have been waiting ages for, and I can do one of 2 things about that :

1) Release them as they are, someone can finish them off [I think Powerspin just needs a reel mask, Your Lucky Knight needs the Shield symbols and possibly some feature symbols lamping]... or
2) Keep them on hold until I have loads of free time, which will be late June.

I would like to take the opportunity to say thanks to all members of the site, compared to some forums with this size of memberbase it has been fun to be around, even the newbies are ok here [well... most of 'em ]

If people want to contact me about stuff, feel free to email me, but depending on what it is, I may not be able to help... stuff like Playtesting, will be out of bounds, but a quick 'hi' or whatever would be fine

Thats about all there is to say really, I'd better go as they are running out of PCs in this room!

yeah, good luck with all of your exams Ben, your fully doing the right thing, college definately should come before fme for you at this time. I for one think you deserve a break from fme anyway with all the hard work you put in here, and now theres some more space in that big old brain of yours for college work!! all the best mate, see ya soon

Re the layout's, I think we should all wait 'till you are back...Especially as you have done the vast amount of work on them already--and the end result with a 'take-over' may lower the way the Emulation would have been.

Anyway, go for it.

Just wondering, do you write your essays in this "Ali-G" style of speaking too? Could that be why you are finding it difficult to pass?

Suffice to say that my '1500 word' Business Studies GCSE coursework actually comprised of 7500 words. Mind you, got 33/35 so can't complain

It's taken loads of, how do I say, 'getting to grips with myself' to work out what I actually want to do with my life, I'm not one of these 'going out and getting f***ed or wasted' type people, I want a pretty quiet life, which is why I chose the Uni I intend to go to.

Anyway, I'm confident that, minor stuff aside, I've sorted out what I want to do, and will be back here in a couple of months to talk about random crap as per usual

Thanks to Hurtand for his offer of completing my current layouts, I'll see how stuff pans out. Ideally I'll release them myself when I finish these exams, but it's nice to know theres people out there willing to help
