Hi

Can anyone help me.

I have just bought a Big Brother machine, but I cannot change the amount to play. It's set at 10p, but I want to move it to 30p.

I've messed with the dip switches, and managed to select 30p, but what I close the lid I get INVKEYBBTR message, then INVALIS KEY.

I don't have the key which is used when you top up the hopper - located on the front where it pay's out. Is this the problem?

Thanks to anyone

Gareth

So you have a variable stake and prizes key?

On the Program Card [should be obvious, it has the test switch [red square one] on it], there should be 2 plugs, both labelled.

One should be Stakes / Prizes, and one Percentages.

Where it says Stakes / Prizes there will hopefully be a Variable Key, which is basically 8 dip switches on a 9pin D plug.

Basically, 4 of the switches control Stake and 4 of the Prize, so when you get to 30p stake you should only need to fiddle the other 4 about in order to get the JP amount sorted.

Which JP are you looking to change it to? Don't forget you'll need the artwork for that JP [unless you don't mind it displaying the wrong amounts on the glass!]

possibly an old program chip that was developed before the 30p stake option.

the display might say the 30p but gives the error because the program does not recognize it.

or possibly the the jackpot that the machine is set to is not compatible with the 30p play option.

You don't need the Refill Key to change stake or anything, so don't worry :)

By Key, it just means 'setting' with regards to Stake / Jackpot, or Percentage - in your case it'll be Invalid Jackpot Key, meaning Invalid Stake / Prize setting.

Anyway, you say you have set it to 30p.... what makes you think that? Do you have a list of stakes / prizes for the variable key?

Also, £5, £15 and £25 should work with 30p play, not sure about £8. If you are trying to set it to £25, maybe it is a pre-£25 program - although that would be unlikely?

When I messed with the switches, I was able to change the stake by prssing the HI/LO buttons. It show'd up in the the little text monitor.
