Anyone here know anything about the repairing of freeview boxes? I am considering buying this lot of 6 faulty ones from ebay:

Hmmmm.... I bet he has tested them and their knackered beyond economical repair, just my opinion I'd leave well alone and let some other sucker buy them .

Anyone buying freeview is stupid beyond belief..I should know....'cos I bought one...and that's another 20 odd channels I don't watch!!! 8O

5 of those boxes are pretty much worthless, the Panasonic is interesting but will probably be an empty shell.
Do you really think he would give up on selling these at £20 each + P&P [say £150 total before postage deductions] just because he couldn't be bothered to plug them in?
Having said that, £10 they might be good for spares for other people....

we sell loadsa stuff on ebay at work.
Untested means beyond repair!!!
But you always find retired suckas who buy this stuff.
What happens they can't fix them and the keep going round on ebay.
The remotes may be worth £6 each if they have them.
I wouldn't bother try guessing the pins if they are locked, which'll mean you can't retune them.
I'd pay a fiver each just for the remotes.

. Just thought it might have been a chance to make some easy cash. Guess ill stick with buying phones from virgin for £26.99 and selling on ebay for £59.99 :wink:

I was selling panasonic phones from Woolies!
Woolies sell them for £19.99 , and I got £35 = postage

Fair to say I get many things in Argos clearances under staff discount and sell them :wink:
Recent examples of clearance stock would be Sony 17" TFTs for £99.99 [although if anyone managed to get one at that price I'd be amazed!], full 5.1 Sony DVD system plus seperate Amp for £150 [currently about £300 in most places], that kind of thing
Buy them on Argos card on 6 months and by the time I've sold them I've paid off the balance and have a fair bit left afterwards
Same with Stage 2 at Peterborough, EXCELLENT ex catalogue shop, just bought a new, boxed Toshiba 28" Flatscreen TV for £162, and a Sony SLV740 VCR [Argos price £99.99] for £30 from there, but I'll be keeping them rather than selling them
