ive got a PC at work that we cannot get into, ive seen lots of windows login work-arounds, but which is best?

ideally I'd like to insert either a USB or burn a CD with the program/dos on it and let the program present me with the password (rather than resetting it)

As cb1 says m8. I used the disc on windows 7 and even 8 and it worked for both. I had forgotten my log in password but the sd tools helped me remove the passwords. You just have to set them back up again afterwards. Although I used the remove password tool both times which did remove the password. Stan sent me a cd and it has been a great help. Kinda makes you wonder tho if you got a stolen PC/Laptop even if it had a password on it anyone would be able to access it.

If you want proper protection then you have to encrypt the hard drive - some editions of modern Windows comes with BitLocker for this purpose. If you lose your password you can recover it only with the password recovery disk (if you remembered to create it...)

I recently encrypted my operating system using bitlocker, my hardware doesn't support trusted platform module (tpm) so I've configured it to use a USB flash drive. I know a lot of people will question if we can trust a provider like Microsoft not to have a backdoor but I use full disk encryption for operating system and container encryption for enhanced privacy for personal private media files using a forked version of Truecrypt called Veracrypt. It's unlikely average person or authority would invest necessary time or finances to break my encryption and I have nothing sinister or of value if they do it's just peace of mind and utilizing what's their until hardware encryption becomes standardize

If anyone wants an Iptorrents invite hit me up as I have 3 invites, It's a nice little site and has lots of movie collections as well as xxx catagory :). It's also relatively easy to maintain ratio even for average leecher like me
