Barcrest error code help if poss please..

Best Answer No1Stoney, 31 January 2015 - 09:31 PM

Check the fuses on the MUX board. There should also be two green leds lit or flashing on the MUX board. Probably a popped fuse.

Hi all.

Would anyone be able to assist with a code diagnosis please ?

I have an Addams Family Barcrest machine that i would like to keep rather than seel if i can get it working.

The error code is: SEC 02E followed by: 0000030

As i was given the machine i know nothing about its history.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Many thanks.

Alex

Get on ebay or fruit machine sales site and buy a knew sec meter. Normally around the tenner mark the 02e is the sec meter version. Also as nick says check the wiring loom from the sec meter to the mpu 5 see if there is any dry joins to the connector. This is an easy fix and shiuld be running with a new meter.
Hold the bells mate.

Also may be worth noting that i noticed a small light on the main board on the back of the machine.

This may/may not be relevent but the sequence is: flashes RED 5 times then RED once.

May be of help to those that know ?.

Yeh the sec meter is black boX and yeh it will still display an error even if faulty.
That would be the easiest and cheapest thing to try first.. If someone has the error codes for mpu5 then that might help with the red blinks you've described.
I used to have them in a folder called mpu5 for beginners lol.. seriously, looked like a childrens book.. haha

Thanks for all the advice.

Ive found an error code ref book for the MPU5.

According to the LED flash sequence the MUX is missing.!!! ( 5 red 1 green flash.)

What on earth is a MUX and where would it go ?.

Close to giving up on life..!!.. :err:

Ah ok thanks.

Well its there.!!

Not too far how far i should go with this now.

According the the alarm code manual the flash sequence means its missing.

Could it mean its faulty or the main MPU5 isn't seeing it because thats faulty.!!

Then the SEC error code is pointing to the SEC meter aparently..!!

The fuses are ok..

One is clear and not blown and one is white so can't see the fuse wire.

I'll get me tester out tomorrow.

Sometimes you cant visually see a fuse is blown and can look perfectly fine. Best to double check with a meter. Are there 2 lit green leds when the machine comes on? If they are both lit of flashing then it isnt the fuses that are the problem
