I would imagine that if the comments she has admitted to making had been of a racial nature, she would (quite rightly) have been summarily dismissed?

Indeed. It's important for people to have a right to an opinion, as long as they don't try and voice them at times that are innapropriate.

As the old adage goes:

Perhaps they`ve let monopoly go to their heads. It can happen sometimes.

Goodness knows what the Firkin chain might have been like if there was one in every town.
