your a lucky sod to live in crawley, not only have you got loads of stewardesses living around, you also live in virgin teratory for players - its an absolute gold mine. there is an arcade run by dykes.. its full of unchipped pies/reel em in, kebabs to name but a few, but the creme de la creme is the unchipped bar-x MAB machines. awsome.. used to do a quick £150 profit from there, and round to the bowling alley for some serious wins there too, then a six shooter appeared in a pub on the corner half way, nealry creamed myself, then 2 connect4s appeared followed by a shark and a spin on it. £400 up in 3 days
got barred on my second visit to the arcade, they reconned i was cheating their machines, well if they have MAB rechips, what you expect. bugger me if a royale family didnt appear a month later, put on a base ball cap and glasses and went back in, LOL

As I've said on many occasions -
1) eBay - keep an eye out for auctions which either have a reasonable delivery charge, or are local and allow a cheap delivery/free collection.
2) Yell.com - or the old fashioned paper Yellow Pages. You should be able to do a search based on your postcode, for something like Amusement Suppliers. Most suppliers are more than willing to sell 'older' machines to the public for a decent price. You also get a reasonable backup from them [I've found them to be great for cheap spares - MPU5 PSU for £15, Gamesman 'push fit' reel for £5, that kind of thing
]
If you have a search throuh the forum, you'll see I've posted about buying machines several times in the past, but apart from Friday Ad, give the 2 I mentioned above a try. Don't forget, with a local supplier you can often arrange a viewing, normally of most stock they have, can see the machine working and/or have a good choice from several machines

May I just ask.... how you intended to get the machine home?
you say you walked 7 miles home and have blisters.
were you planning on pushing it home?
just a thought
(sorry I'm tired lol)

When I went to look at machines at a Peterborough supplier [won't mention their name, although they were OK people to deal with and made some good offers
], their address was something like 650 Lincoln Road. Anyway, I used streetmap.co.uk, and by following the directions on that, I managed to wind up at the wrong side of town...and after turning the map around, I wound up at 15 Lincoln Road. Quite a walk
Anyway, I was walking round there, cash in pocket, intending to take whatever took my fancy [as long as allowed to see it running, checking for decals, e.t.c.], or pay them for a delivery the day after.
Good thing with local companies, delivery normally very good value [or free, as it was in the Spiker I bought in the end [from a different supplier, the Spiker at the place in Peterborough would have needed a lot of work on the button panel
