undisclosed here is the post from jackpotty

As posted on Coin-Op. A little bit shocked. Finally the twats have sold up. Looks like they have got their hands on coral island too.

The Astra Gaming Group (the wholly owned UK subsidiary of Austrian Gaming Industries GmbH, (AGI) part of the NOVOMATIC Group) has acquired the majority of the Noble Organisation arcade business for an undisclosed sum. Under the terms of the deal, Astra will take ownership of 81 adult gaming centres (AGC) and one family entertainment centre (FEC) along with 48 Kwik Tan venues and 10 cafes, all of which are sited within the arcades themselves.

The geographical spread of the estate extends from Greenock in Scotland to Dawlish in Devon. It includes some of the premium locations in the North East, North West and South East of the country as well as the Midlands and at the coast. The business currently employs circa 850 staff led by some of the most experienced management personnel in the business. They will continue to be utilised to champion the strong Nobles brand identity within the NOVOMATIC Group.

Astra Gaming Group CEO Zane Mersich (pictured) commented: “We are delighted to announce the acquisition of the arcade business from Nobles. It will e5125091.gif secure an even brighter future for what are already widely acknowledged as some of the best AGC sites in the UK. It is our intention to build on the success of these venues and ensure that they continue to go from strength to strength.”

Commenting on the rationale behind the acquisition, Mersich noted: “In buying these locations, the Astra Gaming Group is simply applying the core strategy of its parent NOVOMATIC as a leading proponent of both manufacturing and operating. Integrating these key AGC sites within the group is entirely consistent with that philosophy of duality and allows us to innovate and deliver the best of breed games that our customers rightly expect.”

Latest accounts, from 31st July 2013 don't have any suggestion that the Group is in trouble. Maybe the brothers could see trouble looming and this as a way out.

Very interesting.

I hope they do a better job than Nobles did.

And as for Coral Island(on my door step :err: )-that needs demolishing and a complete redevelopment!!-As does the whole of the sea front on the arcade/shop side.

As for the arcades in the town centres they need to learn from the likes of Teddy's Amusements, who keep there core custom with lucrative promotions and prizes.

Gone as the day when you would have many an arcade giving you a cash match or similar promo-But if you don't put the money in and invest in the customers/promotions you will never keep the customer/attract more custom.

Hence the arcades demise, which is part the recession but is also a lack of investment.

silver rooms in Stroud, Gloucestershire   were once owned by novamatic (astra games) But had to shut it due to heavy loses in profits, I think they still own a arcade in Bedmister-Bristol. can only be a good thing in my eyes for nobles customers as they,ll get the newest and best astra games in the market as silver rooms once did. we had fruits that were only available in them two arcades call it a trail run .

I even seen the bosses off astra in Cardiff he visited whilst I was there, john and kelvin their names were I think!

Like with Mellors Group in the Nottingham area, the Nobels are only about 1 generation removed from a Gypsy, and have long been suspected to be using rather dodgy software versions in their games, certainly in the earlier days anyway.

yeah but nobles have used dodgy software

1 example there reflex video cabs i.e tick dock dosh on 20p you had a certain amount of spins for a feature but as soon as you got down to 1 or 2 it would just keep

on forcing a red nudge on my time and time again for 1.20 so I know what the theivening gippos have done  and even the roll in streaks was mega rare after the rigged bent update on these

and nobles have been known to bar x 7 programs in which never do the triple rolls as well
