Anyone here using MFME e.t.c. on touchscreens / tablet PCs?

Just got my new tablet, it's a Dell Venue 11 Pro. I'm having much more luck with MFME than on previous tablets, only issue I have now is that the multi-touch doesn't work as I'd intended so thought I'd see if any of you guys had any ideas.

Single buttons presses work fine with a good tap. Only issue is that MFME isn't responding to multi-touch input - such as 'cancel cheats' - you know, when you hold cancel to slow down a skill stop.

I'd hoped that with 10pt multi-touch I'd be able to use one finger to hold 'cancel', and another finger to hit 'start'. Unfortunately it's not working - the screen interface responds to both presses as I have indicators which show this, but either MFME, or something in the touchscreen software isn't allowing multi-touch.

Other than this though, it's bloody awesome, very happy :D

If anyone has any suggestions (someone here must have a touchscreen or tablet they use?) that would be awesome. The only workaround I could think of would be something like replacing the cancel button with a checkbox, so I use one 'tap' to set the cancel button to 'on', and then press 'start', then clear the checkbox for 'cancel'. Not ideal but I'm thinking it's one solution. Must be a better one though!

Touch doesn't work correctly at all, usually a swipe to activate the buttons but will not recognise multi touch.

Yeah, I suppose I am swiping more than tapping for single clicks. Shame about multi-touch though. Is there any logic in my checkbox idea? Will have to try it on my proper PC later :)

Amber acts the same. I bought the Acer 232HL which is a very nice touchscreen thinking it would work better than my dell touchscreen but unfortunately it was exactly the same :)

It is a major shame, for me this is the future of fme, very interactive and with touchscreens being fairly cheap it's an excellent way to play the machines in portrait mode.

It's a shame, and not one that makes a lot of sense to me, but oh well! If it could somehow be made to work in Amber that would be awesome, and would keep my possible idea for a future touchscreen FME cabinet alive :D

I just tried out the checkbox idea on my gaming lappy and it's not going to work, since MFME 'hides' checkboxes when you exit edit mode. I'd need a checkbox that could be ticked on and off during play easily rather than having to go in and out of edit mode all the time.

I'll keep thinking about possible workarounds though. I mean it's still nice to play machines at good speed in portrait, but most modern machines make huge use of 'cancel', 'Mr Barcrest' and similar buttons. Sometimes you are OK and a single press acts as a hold, but not on most machines.

Must confess that I'm rather impressed with the latest Atom CPU. It's the Z3770 model, quad core and yet uses almost no power, yet wipes the floor with my older Atom single core chips, which did struggle a bit with anything more demanding than notepad :D

Got a bit of a fudged workaround using what I assume is the standard Windows 8.1 onscreen keyboard. Using 1080x1920 (portrait) I have enough room below the 1600 DX layouts I've checked so far, I swipe and hold on cancel / Mr Barcrest or whatever button I want to hold, and click the spacebar on the onscreen keyboard for the start button.

I presume it would be possible to get a modable onscreen keyboard with only a couple of buttons? Not ideal, but would only be needed occasionally and if it only consists of one or two buttons it need not be too intrusive. Will investigate later.
