Hi guys bought my self a new pc yesterday so i can get with the times and start creating layouts for amber as my old shed was not good enough

What i wanted to ask was does windows 8 have it's own anti virus as i'm not sure if one is installed as i aint had any security issues etc,maybe a simple question but i ain't got a clue tbh,thanks for any help guys.

Windows 8 comes with Microsoft's Antivirus built in.

If you install a different product it detects that and switches off (mostly).

Whilst the inbuilt AV is very good, I use MalWareBytes Pro on my PCs as it offers more protection and improved web filtering.

As Magz said Tommy, Windows 8/Windows 8.1 comes with its own antivirus and is called Windows Defender....

...although Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7 also had this program, it wasn't the main antivirus protection, as you had to install Microsoft Security Essentials - but this has all been combined into Windows Defender on the new operating system by Microsoft
