I changed the MPU4 board on a Barcrest Crazy Reels fruit machine, as the old board had developed problems due to a battery leak/corrosion.

The board in there now looks in good condition, so i've taken the battery off to prevent any possible leakage.

The machine generally seems to function fine, but when it comes to payout a win of say 40p or 80p, it pays out all the coins in the 10p hopper! The pound coin hopper seems to work and pays out correctly. It's just the 10p hopper that's baffling me. A little thing i noticed, the board in there now has a MPU4 Mod 4 sticker on it. However, the plastic around the dip switches is black, normally it's red on Mod4 and black on Mod 2's right?...      

Could someone please advise me? I'd really appreciate it if i could get this sorted.

surely if it has a 10p hopper irs designed to pay out the 10p amounts and nlt round them up to £1. does it ever pay out £1's

This machine doesn't round up the wins like others do. It just pays out 40p or 80p wins in 10p's. Any wins in whole £1's it pays out correctly in pound coins.

I've checked the hopper opto sensor, it was a little dusty so i cleaned it, but it still spills out the 10p's. I entered in to test mode and did a coin test before and after i cleaned the opto, with each press of the button it releases one 10p at a time as it should. So this makes me think it can't be the opto sensor. Am i missing something? i'm totally baffled about this one   If anyone else has some suggestions please do let me know.
