This is really bugging me :(

Read the likes of http://androidforums...ting-issue.html for clues and loads of other forums (thanks Mark :) ) but i'm still stumped as-to getting a result.

I have an Android tablet running 4.1.1 I've been trying to unroot the bugger so I can watch the like's of SkyGo etc.

Installed the OTA root-keeper but it won't highlight the 'superuser' tick box (not sure if I need to install a secondary program to allow that?).

I do see the following in my system info........

root@guangg-pc#37

..........if that means anything?

Here's the tablet I have http://www.maplin.co...let-black-a64lk (yeah it's rubbish I know, but at the time it was all I could afford..when I bought it the thing was £160 :( )

I have just done a factory reset so it's totally virginised now too.

Please I'd really appreciate any help on this one ;)

Ady

Will the xposed mod and rootcloak work on tablets?

Sorry I can't be more helpful, I'm currently twiddling with custom roms on my Note 3 and came across this

Just noticed skygo doesn't appear to work :(  but following threads for a few weeks till someone cracks it helps.

Hi Ady,

This is usually a bit of a pain, BUT it appears that Versus actually supply their Roms and update software so it might be slightly easier than it looks.

If you go here:

http://www.versusuk....nloads/8dc.html (I have assumed that you have the 8DC model as it appears to be the only model with 8 in the title).

There is the firmware and the install software. You'll need a Windows PC to do the actual flash of the device. If it's like others that I have done then it's a case of connecting the tab to the PC, running the software, booting the tab and supplying the Firmware when asked. It may be different depending on how their upgrade software works but it should be relatively straightforward.

Gotchas:

1) MAKE SURE it's the correct firmware. The upgrade software might check, but if you load firmware for a different device then you can brick it.

2) MAKE SURE that the tab has external power and good battery before you start. If it powers off halfway through a firmware update, it'll almost certainly brick it.

Otherwise you should get a tab with the stock firmware image loaded. All settings, files etc will likely be wiped so back up the lot first if you want to keep it.

Note that I've never used this particular tab or firmware upgrade software so if in any doubt it might be worth getting it checked out. If you brick it, it was at your risk :)...

Cheers,

Magz.
