whilst coming back from a meeting, I popped into an arcade in West St Brighton. In fact it only has one now.
anyway, I put a colossal £280 between two new £100 jackpot machines and was playing money mad martians at the same time. within the last £3 it did a £100 which repeated and then £10 later did it again for a cool £400. the machine next to did similar but was around £300 - nice profit thank you.
when I asked to cash up the coins he exclaimed that I was always winning and that he was fed up of `looking over his shoulder` than that I should finished my credits and leave.
I was bloody furious to say the least, he said nothing of the time I did £700 straight through a mega bars or the countless times ive done my bollox. I guess hes actually done me a favour and in the final hour I was able to rake some money back. his loss.
In regards to the gaming commission, how on earth is gaming to be conducted in a fair and open way when scrupulous operators don't want you to win at all, let along be given a chance to get your money back ? I though the point of these some what random machines is that you just press start and there is nothing you can do to help the outcome.
if I had left £5 previous, some lucky punter would have won £400 but that would have been fine?
It has happened to me on numerous occasions!!!
So I sympathise with your incident.
Bottom line arcades have always wanted players who have not one clue of how a slot works-hence they lose whatever they stake and walk away and/or lose some more.
That's not before they are plied with meals, beverages and promos to entice them back in
Arcades are at a slight disadvantage now with the £100-£500 jackpots and there randomness, however because most mainstream operators have a core mix of stake/prize payouts they will always attract people who are prepared to lose a few quid and entice them to come back and lose some more!
It may not be the case on the coast, but town centre arcades will always thrive on there local punters, who they have more than likely trapped in there promotion web.
I rare go into arcades now,but because of past miss adventures,I try to stick to arcades that know me. I don.t then feel like big brother is watching me.!
One story I recall in slot land!,was my visit to Wigan I think(can't be sure as been to so many towns!) anyhow I will always join an arcades promotion(if they have any). So I joins and gets something like put 5 in and we match 5. I gets nothing!-surprise! But I decide to chance £20 on a £500 slot-luck of the Irish.
Few spins in,I get the pot feature and win silver-£369!! Happy days. The attendant changes me coins,I play a few more and leave.
I walk around the corner and there is another arcade(same company),so I goes in and tries £20 again on the same slot. From the minute I entered the arcade, the old hag on duty was like a security guard in a supermarket, watching my every move! I said" Is there a problem" to her. "No! she bellowed, but ive had a call"
"Had a call!" I said,"what over me-I laughed" "Yes,over you" she replied.
The women in the previous arcade had alerted her as I been new to the arcade, and was deemed suspicious because of my win.!!wtf!!!!
I told the women in the 2nd arcade with the attitude she had,I wondered how she had anybody play in the arcade!! I left soon after, and she continued to mumble under her breath.
I think what more bugs me with that as im sure it does you,Nails is the fact you are being judged, when you have done nothing wrong.
£700 in coins-you must have been well weighed down!!-but good for you walking with the coins
