It's a common issue with mfme, and especially with the 3.x versions..... however I can tell you, long as you have sourced the files from this forum, you should be quite safe.

Unfortunately Malwarebytes is reporting a false-positive, and is a known issue on these forums.

If you want additional reassurance, suggest uploading the file (Well any file you find on the net for that matter), to Virus Total for a check.

I generally consider that when using VT's site, if I get bad results from less than 30% of the scanners on that site, the file should be safe, but I also consider what those scanners report, and certanaly in MFME's case, I see a lot of generic responses, so that tells me most of the time, the scanners are not sure themselves if the file in question is bad or not.

This is the result from a scan on v3.2 I have just down now..... 6 out of the 11 results come up as generic / suspect, which generally I would not count, if the other results are few and far between.

False positives, mfme acts like a virus waiting for a key to be pressed.

Still looks dodgy on my anti-virus tho? Avast full version 2014:  c:win32/malware.gen found, file not dowloaded.  (Googled :high threat trojan) do I risk turning avast off  and install mfme all in one downloaded from here? :realmad:

Stanmarsh posted that it is safe. Believe him. Mfme is used by tens of thousands of people around the globe every day. It is a behaviour of mfme that causes the false positive, nothing more.

Its only mfme3.2 on mine via Avg, I just deleted 3,2 and use mfme3.1 have done for months no probs. Anyway what is the difference between 3.1 and 3.2
The more I do today, The less I do tomorrow.

Good question, obviously some hic-cups sorted somewhere.

Something i've never thought about.
