Hi guys,

I've just got a The Simpsons Beer Guide machine. Everything is working apart from it does not register when coins are inserted. The coin separator gerrn LED flashes once for coins (as if it has validated and accepted) but the machine will not add credits.

I've attached a photo of a plastic part that was included with the sale, the previous owner (who admitted the coins part did not work) thought this part was from the coin mechanism somewhere. It all looks intact to me, just wondered if anyone could identify the part..?

Many thanks

Ant.

Sounds like the machine could be set in part in freeplay / door open mode from what you are describing.

Can you tell me what the Alpha (Display just above the reels) is saying, or is it just scrolling through with various messages like it's in attract mode?

Also that plastic part..... no idea what that is, but I don't think it's anything to do with the machine.

Can you just confirm - are coins going through the mech and into the cashbox / hopper without being credited, or are they being rejected into the payout tray? If so, does it reject 1p/2p coins or do they also go into the hopper / cashbox?

Sounds odd I know :D

The parts the clip that goes on the front of the coin mech housing, it holds it in place, wouldn't worry about that it works fine without them.

Ahh yes, it's a pin retaining arm for the side of the mech, so it stops the mech from moving out of the housing it sits in...... not massively important it goes back on or for operation of the mech, though if it can be put back on without issue, worth doing.

With this in mind, it gives some clue to that someone has been messing with the mech, so best to check the other things I pulled up earlier, and if those are all good, move on to the mech itself, and check for missing / mis-connected etc parts on the mech, like the routing plug, dataline plug (Guessing the mech will be a cashflow126 or a C435 / SR5), and divert plug.
