Anyone know anything about this machine? All I know about it is I 'might' be getting one tomorrow, and it has some pretty good sounds? Ive never played it or even seen one!

Looking at it, im guessing its about 2001-2003ish Epoch Technology in the Maygay.... somthing cabinate, was thinking of the vision cab, but thats like Gladiators, Noels House Party, Easteneders etc,

Looks like theres a good amount of features on it and a twin trial so it looks like I wont get bored of it easily! And hopefully it will fit in a MK1 Focus Estate...

Any reviews yay or nay? Yes Im taking a whopping risk buying somthing with Epoch tech but fook it, its christmas!!!

There were loads around me 10-12 years ago so can definitely recommend this machine (as with any early Impulse).  Very playable and one of the best for sound/music as well :)

Only slight negative with it (as I remember) is all the good numbers on the feature reel are grouped together so the steps are generally pretty useless!

Its a clone of Flashback pretty much, with a Native Indian theme.

The £15 version I played was pretty harsh. Super JP is hard to get, then when you do get it, it tends to not repeat. Then once in a blue moon it'll go for £90.

Easiest way to build up features is to get a low win, gamble to exchange for blasts, then collect cherries from blasts, repeat until feature you want is available.

Be aware, these cabinets are huge AND heavy. Be prepared to bungee the boot down if needs be. Not sure how big the boot is on a focus estate. It'll fit, but whether it'll fit with the boot closed is another matter.

Thanks for the opinions! Yeah I measured using the measurements (firstly) from a casino cabinate, then I used the measurements from an Italian Job 3 (71inch high 27 wide) and it just seems to squeeze in!

Yea I'd definitely put it on £5 jackpot for playability although it does have a great streak in it (even on £25).  Once got £75 followed by another £25 from super hold on the next feature.  On £5 though you can regularly get the jackpot from the lower features such as stop n step.  Depends what you like really :)

£5 Jackpot at the moment only unfortunatly, ive got the £5 decals and a soldered POP plug, but ive still got my switchable from my gladiators!

Battery is leaking every so slightly.... a lot.... needs changing, the board looks okay though. It does sound really well :)

It fitted in the car no problem apart from taking half of the back seat out, just slid straight in!

Anyway heres a video for you!

If you want £25 Decals, I have a flashback on £25 which uses the same decals, and I can scan them in.

If the battery is leaking, get it off asap.

I've not managed to recover a board yet that has had a battery leak. Its almost as if once those lines under the  battery break, the next power-up will kill the board forever. Once it stops working because of a battery leak, even a minor amount, they are hard to get working again.

Also check the lamp board version, if its a v1, find a v2 from somewhere because it will stop working sooner than later.

Got some pictures, not too sure where to find the version number without taking it off.

Any those decals would be a godsend if you could do that for me! Thakn you very much!

Mpu requires changing, the battery is definitely leaking badly...

The lamp board is a mk1 and as said if you are keeping the machine look at changing that as well as the psu board to a mk2 as these are prone to burning....

Thanks for your replies, but please dont shout as I voice my opinion, im keeping the machine but I have no intention of spending £60+ on boards and PSUs ive moved the battery out of the way and as you can see the board doesnt seem to have taken very light damage on the front, there is a tad of corrosion on the back but it all seems to be intact.

The Lamp board seems to be clean as anything, id go as far to say its been replaced for a brand new unit in the past it looks in very good condition.

The PSU is fine as far as I know, a lot quiter than I expected, the screws were a tad loose causing a bit of vibration but thats been sorted, all the voltages ive tested and are running strong, non of them were under even by 0.1v, so im guessing its fine. The machine inside doesnt look like its ever been touched unlike any machine ive owned before, even the Games Media Monster cash I had from 2009 looked in worse condition. Its not even really dusty inside, all it need is a few bulbs changing.

One thing I will ask is the bottom glass seems very easy to move left and right and the top door seems a bit 'flimsey' even though ive tightend every nut and screw I could find!

From my experiance of owning about 8 machines and working on probably another 10 or 12 more which ive fixed (not cock waving some were literally changing bulbs) ive changed 3 batterys and everything seems to have gone well apart from the Gladiators which had a complete board failure and I couldnt get hold of a board until I stripped it, id say the Geronimo is in pretty good condition seeing as it was built in August 2000. I would of thought 13 years of the same (probably) components it will last another year or two unless somthing does fail badly or I brake it.

I understand that there has been battery damage but only slightly and that Epoch is the most unreliable technology since TVR started making their own ECUs but I have faith and wont be wasting money on somthing that cost me next to nothing in the first place, when it works perfectly, looks pretty good and isnt broken, and ive taken a precaution with the battery, hopefully it will serve me well! :)

hi , I find them machines are very shakey anyway when you move the door left an right the glass moves , you just don't do it , it will be fine

I'd put that battery lower rather than high like that as the residue from that battery when leaking will spurt out like amushroom onto the board but

that's just my opion?

I find that some epochs and I don't know why 2 its happened to me with when you change that lamp board for the mark 2 which should be better the machine plays up

ie, the disply starts missing letters out and disply goes dim

and befores its said the mark 2 has been fine in other machines and there has been nothing wrong with the displys either it was astrange one

Right okay, I will change it when it breaks :) As for now its happily buzzing its tits off doing my head in just like an Epoch should :)

Yeah ive moved the battery over underneith the door switch and put tape around it so its not ejaculating all over the board.

There's a classic layout for it already, to see if it's any good.
