does anybody know how to fix the display panel on bully alpha?

Yes and No.

 

The problem is that there seems to be a lack of info on the matrix itself. MFME has hard coded values to show letters of the alphabet and some punctuation, but the matrix itself was capable of much more.

 

Without knowing the driver chip its not possible to say for sure, but in MFME there is a lookup table with lots of empty spaces. If the chip is a simple lookup table then it would be possible to edit MFME in a hex editor to allow for the other options, however if its more complex than filling the empty table then it would require a recode of the Matrix driver in MFME and a recompile.

 

First off, find a procon dot matrix and get a picture of the chip(s) on the back and I can tell you the rest.
