Hi guys,

I have a MPU4 fruit machine - an old style Jubilee Riviera (Rainbow Falls), which looks like a mechanical machine with a handle but actually works on a MPU4 system.

Anyway, it ocassionally resets, and I've been told it could be due to the power supply.  Are all power supplies for MPU5 machines the same, or are there differences?

And, does anyone know where I could buy one, or have mine repaired?  Is there a way I could prove it is definitely the power supply?

Thanks in advance,

Mark

No there different, must be mpu4, don't get mpu5 or barcrest green label.

After one myself for a spare, its very rare you find them for sale though.

Maybe someone on here could help you with one.

There is also a dial on the mpu4 motherboard called reset sensitivity you could try turning that up.

Sorry just been and looked and I now remember, I sold the one that was deffo working, the only one I have left has a fuse holder missing, so I've no idea whether it's working or not, if the fuse holder is replaced, I've got some spare holders if you want to risk it?

I know but if the machine it arrives in does not work i cant spend time on an old MPU4 attempting to fix as it wont be worth anything once running - On a plus side they do make great door stops.

Hi guys, thanks for the info - it is useful to know that it needs to me a MPU 4 power supply and not MPU 5.  I've not had time to photograph it tonight but will try and take a pic tomorrow, although the pic Richy provided looks like it, from memory.

So, is there anywhere I can buy one or have mine fixed?  I have a multimeter so would that be enough to check my supply, or would the problem not be immediately obvious?

If anyone has one they want to sell me, please let me know ;)

Cheers, Mark.

Im sure from memory you can open up the power supply and quite quickly see any dry joints or burnt up joints - Close to the fuse holders - Easy fix really just time consuming - Problem my end is the lack of machine to test units on.

Nick - Get you wallet open :)

I like machines in the cloud 999/sunset boulevard cabs if you ever come across any. Not sure on the name of the cab, just call them stumpy cabs lol

Just picked up a pcp spot on last week. Same cab. Great game!
