I love this machine am trying to find a second hand one cheap at the mo. Is tehre no ROM or layout floating about for this though?? Or has anybody thought about working on it?

Nah, none of the emulation coders would waste their time on MPU5, only about 5 machines worth playing exist on it 
Seriously, if work does start on it, you'd be looking at about 2008.... and thats IF they start work on it
Best of luck in getting a second hand one, don't forget to check eBay, local suppliers [under Yellow Pages, 'Amusement Machine Suppliers'], even national suppliers. Also sites like www.selectamuse.co.uk have a couple of machines on, and are not too expensive. However, some suppliers on the internet charge WAY too much. I'd say Hot Rocks is worth about £225>£275, might be able to get it for just under £200 on eBay.
