Hi Guys!!

I'm having problems when entering credits on £ Sterling. Sometimes they will go in fine but on other occasions the machine resets itself. The credits have normally gone in and it's OK. Tonight though it completely crashed and I had to reset the ROM to get it working again. I've tried putting in a higher delay speed. The machine is running fine but I'm still having probs with putting in credits. To a lesser extent Fairground is doing the same. Although on this occasion the alarm is just going off and no harm is done. I also had the same problem with Cash Counter on MFMEv1. This just crashed if you tried to put credits in too quickly and you would have to reload it.

I've tried waiting a few seconds in between putting credits in just in case my computer is too slow but it seems to make no difference (except for Cash Counter) and it appears to be completely random whether the machine will accept them or not.

I've checked the KB and can't find anything on there. In case you ask my PC is a P3 running at 750MHZ and I've 128k RAM, using Windows '98 SE. All other games play fine.

I'd appreciate any advice you can give me guys.

Thanks. :D

I'm having the same problem with Hurtands Fairground, although I can't seem to get it to happen with the classic version by Pete.
Maybe there is a setting somewhere that differs between the 2 versions, but I haven't been able to find it yet.

Could the speed setting cause these sort of errors when set too high perhaps?

Maybe I've set them too high for my PC Smiley...I'll try lowering them a bit and see if that makes any difference. I had the same problem with both the Classic and Hurtand's DX but at least it's not fatal. £ Sterling just went completely bonkers (weird sounds and then total meltdown....lol)

ok guys and girls if some of you remember back in the 80`s ace had alot of problems with the coin mech system as ace were one of the first companys to use the electronic coin mech ie the mars unit or mms as some of u may know this as problems like the machine resetting and other things this is what nearly finished ace unit the space system was made then went bust after many years and never really got thought there loss of the money which was pumped into a coin mech that could use all coins with out using single coin entery like barcrest, ect used at the time then jpm/sega bought the company out and made machines using the impact system still trading as the ace ccompany ie robin hood ,wild west ,hit the bell or top kungfu ect during the mid 90`s using an early proto type electra cabnet be4 jpm were to give up the voga design and intro duce a new type of electra which could use a note acceptor once the note mod was using many machines which had this fitting was use by leisure link the end

I used to own an early ACE machine and never had any probs putting credits in. Bank Note if I recall. I used to play £ Sterling and never had any probs putting credits in either.

So basically what you are saying Impact is that there's F*** all I can do about this?

what i am saying that yes there is a problem there and that its on the lines of the sys1 or the coin system being emulated this problem maybe due to the software having a bug or two in there at the mo but in the really world there was a problem with 1000s or even tens of that did have problems with sys1 using the coin system bug like this though in the software could be fixed at a later date with some ace machine emulation code who knows mfme v2.02 for example the .02 could be where code has been redone to correct this fault which stops this from happening with some of the machines out there using the sys1 emulation

I managed to get the DX of Fairground working without the "1.1" coin input error by dropping the speed a bit.

By default it was 100000, but I put it up to 250000 when I first downloaded it to get the reels moving at a decent speed.

I now have it at 200000, which doesn't give the error when I press 0, and the reels move quick enough for me.

Maybe worth trying the speed settings for the other error you're getting Gaz.

I too now have Hurtand's DX of Fairground working fine...but £ Sterling has crashed again. Oh well. Can't have everything I suppose. :p

If it's the DX of Pound Sterling, click on the "Notes" heading and you'll see that it's apparently a known bug.

At least it'll save you going crazy trying to get it to work. :)

I never saw that Smiley mate. 8O

Strange things occur when you are trying to get a fruitie to work. Bloody shame as it's a fine DX.

Oh well, just so long as it ain't just me. I don't mind it resetting on coin entry, it's just when it keeps crashing!!!!
