I heard something similar before. Basically Bell Fruit buying a fruit machine and just re glassing it.

Lots of machines have gone this way. Just look at some of the swp type machines in chippies and the like. I have seen old genesis cabs, horizon cabs and even an old jpm impact cab housing these dire games.

All Bellfruit machines are being sold back to Bellfruit & Reflex gaming etc to build their new machines.. They are sanded, sprayed, reglassed etc. it is cheaper than building a new cab.. Plus think about the cost of resupplying every psu/cpu hopper plus more etc... It is a good way of recycling...
They are thinking of starting to take in and rehouse in the barcrest horizon cabinet aswell.. But they have to have the modern hopper inside, if they have a slidey hopper it's worthless.. And of course they won't touch the two batches of dodgy horizons with that nasty hinge fault.. :S

Well think how rare it is that you can pick up old barcrests I mean if you wanted just one machine (in my case it's barmy army)... You just can't find it.. I can find plenty of cash bang wallops or battle axe... It's exactly the same principle for today's machine.. In five years time you may never be able to find a full metal jackpot or whatever because they just disappeared.. Either sitting in someone else's basement.. Scrapped for parts, broken down for scrap or rebuilt.. It's up to the buyer of today to buy what they want while its still availiable and look after it.. And when it does eventually come up for sale, someone who does want that machine can buy it, and so on an so forth.

I send so many Scorp 5 back now its mad - This in turn pushes the prices back up.

Nick is correct as now Horrizon 1 and 2 cabs are being used also by Reflex.

Sometimes we get offered better money to send back than what we could make via eBay.

well i suppose they will always be around they can't recall everyone or rather they'd never find everyone,

i have a scorpion 4 deal or no deal whats in your box ive had it for 3 years it is in mint condition i wouldn't like the thought of that being stripped and rebuild

its in better nick than acouple of scorpion 5's i have

Yes the Scorp 6 is out and running with a dongle - Not something many ppl agree with but we dont seem to have much other choice other than giving machines back to Reflex to convert in either SC5 or MPU5/6 cabs to keep it at bay.

Im sure over time there will be no other choice but for now Reflex is our only good performing option.

Whos going to buy a second had machine that needs a dongle - Not many home customers im sure.

how does thia all effect buying of machines like for home then will it be none existant???

i mean i buy broken machines and sell them on i don't really make anything more fun really i have afew i always keep too

does that mean all coming to an end???

they were on about someone cracking this dongle thing to bypass it , think it was on mecca but not 100%

My knowledge past this is not as good due to not looking to buy them and if i buy and sell just to trade the operator will purchase a dongle as they would on a quiz machine.

I think the dongles are year on year purchase to keep the machine running - No dongle = no machine.

But i could be wrong.

Think how many arcades there are in the uk.. The. If each one sells just one every couple of moths on the bay to make room for a new pusher or crane or more recent machine.. That's a lot of older machines.

I point blank refuse to buy a dongle product. wait a few months and reflex will rebuild it without a dongle.
