hi guys i have an amazing on 70 jp had it 5 months now and its been fine but the last few weeks when ever i collect any features or play the dond type game on it, it trips out the electric? why would this be? it boots up fine and plays fine on the board etc until i collect any features such as pick a win or cash climber? it even done it during mega streak the other day?

If your electrics in your house are 'tripping' then it looks as though you have an earth leakage problem with your machine. When you touch any metalic part of the machine, does it feels like it is buzzing?
I would have a safety insulation test done on your machine to check. It takes 10 to 100 mA and an interrupt of 40 to 100 milliseconds to trip your electrics normally (17th edtion). If it's been fine the last few weeks and the house electrics are now tripping be VERY carefull when using the machine.
EDIT: Does your home electrics 'trip' when using any other el. item ? i.e. Kettle, TV, washing machine etc.

There's a couple of engineers on the forums who may be able to advise him before he considers that 
As for 'tripping the electrics out', we still don't know for sure if it's his household electrics, or just the machine itself conking out.

The engineers on here ARE pros always better to get advice before jumping in and paying out a fortune that doesn't need to be spent

As i have to do Pats etc every day on our fobt`s juice`s etc. One or two things here is to move your mains lead to another plug point and replace your mains lead. Also check earth bonds get your pliers out and give all earth bonds a squeeze. If you know how to use a muilty meter and check that there is continuity from each earth bond to the PSU aswell. Check that 7mm nut/screw is tight on the PSU where earth bonds meat. Then from the PSU to the earth pin on the plug. The other problems that can happen is your PSU is weak once there is to much current needed from the machines lights etc the PSU keys up to draw more off and fails making it trip out. The MPU reset sensitivity is at fault and will shut down mid game,Full Lamp test all 256 lamps put a strain on the PSU and MPU.Not step lamp test. Could be a PSU replacement.

Remember Failing to bear RDP and my post and others like minded. Not only are you put yourself and others at risk from get electrocuted. The risk of a fire starting could also be there.

cheers for the response guys, very helpful. nothing else is causing the trip just this, reading impact's post there im gonna have a little look round and try changing the leads and plug points etc, if i cant get any joy myself ill just give up with it
not bothered enough to get an engineer out or anything just thankful i havent electrocuted myself up to now lol

With the machine SWITCHED OFF. Have a look to see if any part of the machine has been removed or changed. An earth wire could have been left disconnected or worse connected to the wrong terminal.
As said previously, if yer not sure find someone who is. Take care M8.

right lads, sorry to be a pain again but i got a new power supply this morning as i know the bloke who owns the local arcade.
ive taken the old one out and put the new one in and.... it works! BUT from the old power supply there was a buzzing sound, now on this one there is a weird noise coming from it and i can only really describe as a 'bubbling' sound, i know most of you will think wtf is this idiot on about but just wondering what this is? is it normal? is it dangerous? cheers again

me again lol.
this is all fine and working now but everytime i switch it on and it boots up it asks me to set the time and date? even when the doors are all shut it does this so im assuming it may possibly be the ram?
oh and also how can i make the machine thinks theres nothing in the hopper? i know i can hopper dump but when you turn the refill key its still says refill x 0 i want it to say refilll x 250 but cant be arsed to win 250 on it and collect it all out lol cheers in advance

cheers for the reply, also i forgot to add it only seems to do it if i remove the plug from the socket if i just switch the socket off it doesnt do it, would that make a difference at all?

Sorry dont agree with the Batt issue here.
Reasons:
1: Curly stated the hopper needed to be dumped to be reset to zero - Flat/ Dead batt would forget this info on re-boot.
2: Really when was the last time anyone saw an MPU5 batt die.
On reading this post the first think i would have done was changed the mains lead then looking into earthing on the machine ( PAT tested ) , maybe socket tester on plug.
