Hi guys,
Is there a way of disabling the alarm on my machine? Even if anyone knew what wire in the speaker I could unplug that would be great.
Cheers

Either pull a wire off the speaker (probably has spade connectors on the ends) or follow wires back to the board and pull the plug off...... with machine switched OFF!

At the moment there are 2 blak wires going to the same point a yellow wire beside it and then there is a thicker grey wire that looks like I can just unscrew it. Which one would it be as I have no idea. Will the machine music and sound effects still work?

follow the wires from the speaker, back to the sound board area, and you will find it connected to the board..... just unplug the molex plug from the board.
Another trick like have done on my impact based machines (The alarm is very loud on them), is to fit a kill-switch with two runs of wire (Standard speaker wire will do), and loop one of the wires taken off the speaker via this switch, and fit the remaining wire to the speaker, then I just run the wire externally out of the machine to a convenient place.

That's what I said Mark

If you disconnect the speaker, then there will be no sound at all, probs best to try and sort what's causing the alarm in the 1st place.
More info as to what happens and when, would be good.

It's the on off alarm if I have it turned off for a few days then put it back on.

An on/off alarm should only occur if the machine is switched on and off several times close together??? not really something I would unplug the speakers for as it only does it for 5-8 seconds...

I agree with Taylor, so are you certain that it's an on off alarm and not the battery?
Does it give any alarm code?
If it's the battery, each time you turn the machine off it will clear the ram and reset everything, giving an alarm in the process so it might be a good idea to check that the battery is ok.
If I'm 'preaching to the converted' then I'm sorry, but it's best to check the simple/obvious things 1st, plus it will give you peace of mind that the battery hasn't started to leak.

It's defo the on off alarm code 4.8. It doesn't matter too much, just it's very loud and I'd hoped it could be disabled. It's not a regular thing anyway.
Cheers guys

To avoid the error 48 leave the machine to "time out" the alarm. ( only the first 10 sec or so is an audible alarm then its silent )
Avoid repeated door entries as this can also trigger this alarm.
Once you have got the machine out of the alarm state, to avoid future errors,
1. Make sure theres zero credit in it when you switch off.
2. Avoid repeated door opening closing with power on.
3. Avoid switching it of and on without playing credits inbetween power up/downs.
Also note if the PSU is on its way out ( eg faulty ) that can also cause repeated on/off code 48 alarms.
Hope that helps.
