i have a LG kp500 cookie and was told recently i could get downloadable ereader software like something similar to kindle so i could read ebooks on my phone im not sure how correct this is but if anyone knows anything about this i would be grateful for your info as i wouldnt know how to install it on the phone or how to use it.
I have seen some software but not sure how it works.

It will probably come in an app form, but with it being LG software you would have to do a bit of research as to what file extension the phone can read, if its ereader.app or ereader.lgapp for example. Once you find the right one install it by putting it onto the SD card, or plug it in and it should work If not, join a forum for the phone and ask on there, I guarantee theres one for it!
