Hiya guys
To keep me out of this depression I think of making a new site based on reviewing fruit machines, i don't want to step on anyones feet or reinvent the wheel, as i am not intelligent enough to make emulations etc, anyhow, i have now got my hands on Screenplay by Maygay - having problems at the moment, but decided to write a review of the machine, trouble is I could write all day about it, covered about 2% of the machine, and gone on for ages. Anyhow, what do you guys / gals think, should I carry on with the review, would some of you contribute with your prize possessions or memories ??
Fruit Machine Review – Screenplay
This machine, as far as I am concerned, was one of the greatest ever made, manufactured by Maygay, it took the whelm of reel to video play into reality. Whist keeping a simplistic payout structure of 6 main prizes it incorporated random features which keep the gamer guessing if they were going to win.
Originally the machine was made in the days when the UK Pub / Arcade jackpot was 20p and £4.80, but as the gaming industry got a higher jackpot payout by law, the machines were converted to the new £6.00 Token jackpot.
I could write a book about this machine, and by the looks of it I probably will, but down to basics first, it kept with the current rule of having half the jackpot in full cash with a repeat chance, and also stopping any gamble, hi / lo etc there, this means the jackpot was as usual a special effort.
The creators must have been a ‘Madness’ fan, as it features a few songs from there, and of course of a few Maygay machines, the classis 2 unlimited loop, ‘de de de de de dea, de de de de de deea deea (then repeat)’, if you’ve played the machine you know exactly what I mean, then the sound effect of when you got a hi / lo right, and the spinning of the new achieved win all added to the excitement, and then the sound of smashing glass when you lost on the hi / lo just confirmed that you had to have another go.
The video to reel concept was perfect, either didn’t take over, they both complemented each other, such as the bar-gain feature – but again that is a story inself….
Anyhow before I go on for about 100 pages or so, I am posting this for peoples options to see if I if a new website goes on.

Should I Carry On With The Review, Would Some Of You Contribute With Your Prize Possessions Or Memories ?

I think its a good idea mate, i have used sites previously which offer a description of certain machines - offering hints n tips and advice on gameplay etc. But i havnt seen a sit that covers many machines so it would be pretty unique i guess! You might need to offer advice on newer machines aswel las older ones to get some attention idk...

Go for it Wayne ... sometimes those nolgastic reminisces send me back to when fruit machines, although still addictive for their day, where playable, and not just computer chips.
It'll be nice to follow perspectives from other people like Cavey from the Mecca used to do... they really take me back.

Yep as nick as daryl says go for it... Can anyone contribute to this topic and will it be on a separate website or in a section on here say "real fruit machines review" I would certainly apply some reviews and also a piccy of either an emulation screenshot or an actual picture of the machine at the start of the review would be beneficial too,and will it cover all machines regardless of age/era.
The more I do today, The less I do tomorrow.
