Hi all im off to blackpool this sunday for a good old flutter on the fruitys, this will be my first visit since 2000 and just wondered what if anybody knows what its like for fruitys nowadays as i remember going every year or so and always got to play my all time favorates.
Im hoping for a good catch up with Andy Capp, La Viva Casino and Road Hog as these machines used to dominate every aracde along the golden mile. Also hoping to get a good catch up on the following
Gold rush
Red hot roll/super streak
Big top & stars and stripes multiplayers
anything with a showtime (such as open the box and jolly jewels that were in coral island)
Winner takes it all
Rich and famous
all the oldies with £6/£8/£10 jackpots
Does anyone know if these machines are still around anywhere in blackpool ? or has it just basically become over-run by all the new worthless progessives and donds i get everywhere i go.
thanks

I'm sorry to say you will be very disappointed as there is no classic fruits anymore in blackpool,it is full of shit dond,s coral island used to have them all and has none now, because they are too greedy. There is an arcade in fleetwood called harbour lights, this has an andy capp, road hog, viva las vegas and viva espana, but they are on £4 cash jackpots.it also has an mps no limit nudge and some mpu 4 tuppenny nudgers.

The closest you will get to what you are looking for are the 10p/£8 bar x's in Coral-
Bt as Tommy says what you are looking for is sadly a by gone era!
Not a bad arcade that Harbour lights Tommy-just a shame the vintage 2p and 5p slots at the back of the arcade are no longer working.
The pleasure beach used to have a good selection of slots too,but sadly they too now have most of the modern trash!
Hope you have a good trip Corel, but think you will be dissapointed.

Yeah all the classics are long gone now in Blackpool.. St Annes Pier has a temple of treasure, 2 x cash labs and a few others..

Yeah , as quite a regular visitor to Blackpool im afraid its all the usual pish nowdays , Party Time Arenas , Party-Times , Golden Games , DONDS , Bar X's ..
I tend to stick to the one place as i cant walk very far , cos im old lol ... usually the South Pier or the big one across the road , the name of which now eludes me.
But its mostly carbon copies of the same machines , i do like the place inside the pleasure beach..that has a few good ones..The Mob , Money Monster , King Kebab.

Lucky Starr Todd and yet again real changed in there too.
There used to be an arcade in the pleasure beach that had 30p/£5 slots and they gave a dam good play too, sadly (like all slots that are deemed good payers!!),are soon removed-never to be seen again.

Thats the one gemini , cheers .. went in there once and played a PTA took about £26 without a top feature and only about 2 X wins on the base unit.
Lucky enough caught it next day before anyone had played it , managed to claw back about £20 from it , big bag of crap.

I Think everyone has covered the main base of what you are looking for, but to touch the final areas, here's where you will find the rest
-Gold Rush (Stampede) >Fun Palace (£5 Jackpot- but in the 18 area)
>Cleveleys Olympia
>Fun Land (£25 Jpot- but top box is not connected)
>North Pier
-Gold Rush (single) >Cleveleys Treasure Island
-Red Hot Roll >Fun Palace (scattered around the arcade) Genesis Model and a Multi player and a 'Gold' version
>Happy Dayz (multi player)
> Sandcastle Waterpark has the 'old skool' version
-Big Top >Cleveleys Olympia & Cleveleys Treasure Island
-Stars and stripes> Cleveleys Olympia
ShowTime is no longer found in Blackpool (Coral Island lost all theres) Although there is 3 in Southport (red hot roll, stars and stripes, gold rush)
Winner takes all, and Rich and famous, and simular types has all gone too.
Best thing is start in Fleetwood (as prev said) the arcade is on the prom, next to the tram stop terminus. They have LOTS of old machines, and even more so as they bought 95% of the machines off Slots Of Fun last year. you will also notice that all the machines are with the same type cabinets (eg Horizon machines together, genesis together, Red gaming together, the 3 crazy fruits together, etc...) Then work south to Cleveleys where they have a good choice, and then so on to B'pool... But there has been a BIG BIG change since 2000!!!!!!!!
i do like the place inside the pleasure beach..that has a few good ones..The Mob , Money Monster , King Kebab.
Ahaa.. Bowl-a-drome!!
Pleasure Beach also has a fair selection, like Todd said, although they charge for entry now, and I think its now gone up to £9???!! But since HB Leisure took them over, they don't play as well as they used to, and they refill to back rather then naturall refill like they used to.
BUT PLEASE BE WARNED.. Lucky Star, The 3 Piers and Star attraction (formally Mr T's) are MOSTLY 70%!! Coral Island is usually okay, and I know you all go on about DOND, but their £5 Jackpots are genuinly at 82%!!
But still gash.. but good look (ps dont play Golden Games or Monopolys- they are hawked by locals!!)
EDIT- didnt realise that this post was for Sunday as in yesterday... let us know how you did.......

well thanks for the comments. Blackpool wasnt as bad as expected id give it 7/10 as alot of old favourates still going strong so it wasnt all as bad.
i would still recommend it for someone who wants to go for a good gamble on their old favourates but the biggest stink was the "over 18's" area as full of donds, party times and usual crap etc so i steer'd clear of there.
Elvis gold rush on £25 was still there and so was red hot roll in central pier. Plenty of bar x, adders and ladders (multiplayer), Phyco cash beast and others.

It has been up for sale for some time now!
Dad sums it up well!
They have changed very few of the machines bar the £500 jackpots and a few new additions in the form of £100 jackpots.
They have rows of £6/£8 token crap to attract the older gambler!
And rows of bar/x/7 £25 jackpot slots.
There are two over 18 areas. One area has around 300 slots and the other around 150.
The rest of the arcade is a mixture of £5 jackpot slots and ticket machines.
They also have a casino.

Be careful in that fleetwood arcade, when its quiet I get watched like a hawk its very intimidating and everything is low percent, Treasure island in cleveleys has to be caught at the right time, sunday evenings are always best, Olimpia across the road is just pot look. They have a habit of setting all the £25 jackpots to 25p a play which changes gameplay a lot on most machines but its not too bad, theyve recently got a lot of old Bar Xs in.
