Don't forget people - even stuff like Google and MSN Toolbars have POPUP Blockers - you will normally need to
HOLD THE CONTROL 'CTRL' BUTTON ON THE KEYBOARD, THEN CLICK ON THE CHATROOM NAME - or you will get some weird errors and be unable to join chat for 3 mins

Please note the server is under a little strain at the moment, there are lots of activities happening on the multiple web sites that are hosted on this server. Its not just fruit-emu. Normal service will be resumed as soon as possible, sorry for any inconvinience caused. I feel a reboot coming soon, so if the site goes down, be assured it will return soon.

The site is going to be overhauled some time in the future. The number of members visiting has increased quite a bit and poor PHP-Nuke just can't handle it. The software itself is a combination of phpBB, PHP-Nuke and a number of hacks and it isn't very efficient.
I'm currently looking and testing a more integrated and commercial solution which won't put such a huge strain on the server.

Does this mean the slowdown will be sorted?
Over the last few months i've noticed that fruit-emu seems to be gettin slower and slower,i dont know if its only me.
For example when the homepage (eventualy) loads in my avater is in cctv mode just like the scrolling new flyer menu, everything is jerkey.
But if i post a topic,my avater animation is as smooth as anything.
i'm on bb so my connection speed can't be the problem
Sorry to moan but it's annoying me now.

The problem you describe is only partly due to the site. It is the fact that on the homepage there will be two animations - your avatar and the scrolling flyer block. Normally this wouldn't be a problem, but it can be really jerky on slower PCs running Internet Explorer.
If you don't use Firefox (http://www.mozilla.org) then I would as it speeds up the loading of all sites, especially if you have a large IE Cache. For example the homepage for FE appears in about a second on Firefox, but on IE it can take up to 10 seconds.

Thanks for the reply duplu.
I'm currently using xphome,AMD 1.2 gig,384mb ram,Nvidia 64mb.
Is this classed as slow machine?
I see what you are saying in your post, but you didnt answer my question regarding your "overhaul" of the site, will it speed up the site?.
thanks

Yes it will - The power required and time taken to construct the page will be less and therefore they will appear to the user alot quicker.

Which BB are you on? 128kbit is pointless, I'd say 576kbit is the slowest anyone should aim for!
I've had some huge spy/mal/ad-ware problems, which have caused massive differences in terms of website loading times. These are basically caused because, if you have some of the offending software on your PC, rather than accessing the website, the software will be forwarding details of the site to another server, possibly including details entered on the site.
It has NOTHING to do with fruit-emu.com [assuming dodgy software is to blame], but would cause the website to run slowly.
