Just been scanning through the forthcoming releases and I found a few that haven,t been released even though they were Wip,s some several months ago, they are,
1. Cash is king by ady,
2. Empires vertigo by robinhood unfortunately that won,t get finished due to him not being here anymore,
3. Global's driving school £250jp by) RB,
4. Arcadia wdx mfme2.0 by £6in tokens,
5. Tubular bells £15 1024dx by bruce george,
6. Club Money spinner apparently running but dodgy disc reel.
Will these ever be completed if not by the original designer maybe by another one with their permission of course, as some of these even have the artwork completed. Are there anymore hidden gems waiting to be released which haven,t yet.
On another point are there anymore Amber fruits going to be released by anyone in the near future

The way things are i don't blame anyone for not releasing anything,it's gone stale again and i just can't be arsed making anything else, theres no point, same old same old tbh i'm sick of working with shit artwork apart from the big scans i get off ady if he has that particular machine.Plus no-one but the same regulars show any interest so i aint bothering anymore.I find buying my own machines and getting em going from broke much more satisfying than making a layout atm.It also doesn't help when good artwork goes to a select few,iv'e seen this more and more over the years and tbh it stinks.

does anyone think this is because the new AMBER emulator has gone a bit slow with the 'new releases'???

.....also what does everyone else think will kick start up the fme scene again???

Just been scanning through the forthcoming releases and I found a few that haven,t been released even though they were Wip,s some several months ago, they are,

.....i guess the longer you wait for something the better playing experience you will get....

A few things that could stop this floating arcade from sinking is the big fruity manufactures letting us have some of the latest machines available to emulate I.e more £25/35ers including astra,s which probably isn,t gonna happen for a while. More people taking an interest in this site and others not just downloading then slagging off the designers which we,ve seen recently, or people asking the one question "how do I get this n that working" then not seeing them for dust, get people more involved even if it,s taking pictures of machines that are in need of emulating. I,ve tried to get people involved from my previous topics -i.e machine streaks and favourite machines etc aswell as trying to get people to play geddy,s random game which died on its arse over at dadsfme. I like most of the regulars don,t want to see this site and others sink and be lost forever but unfortunately the way its going it will be so come on the other 10,000+ members support this site a bit more please

Vectra mate, you have, after years of this in FME land, you have to learn to get used to phases like this - it is part of FME culture for long periods of inactivity, lost motivation, stagnation, lack of resources - after a decade plus of FME there really is only so much you can do.

Astra etc, may allow one day for us to be able to use their resources, but without an emulator for them, what is the point? - and to be honest, no doubt, some inner circle somewhere is in fact playing Astra on the emulator they have. There are loads of resources available for techs that haven't been released, but without the creation of the a new emulator, that will run them, they are useless!

People can only work with what they have got - WIP are just that - works in progress mate - there are, on a lot of them, no dates given for release, so we just have to accept that we will get them, or won't, when the layout creator feels like releasing them - a lot of them are what we have already anyway, in some form or another, so they are nothing new, and as Tommy has mentioned, the lack of resources for artwork, hoarding etc, which is another long-term problem of some of 'IC' brigade, makes you lose motivation and interest.

FME, and certainly, Fruit Emu, won't die - but you have to learn to accept these periods of stagnation, like over at DAD's FME with the Random Game, because after so long, people in FME land, soon lose interest - it's what happens mate, and that will never change, no matter what any individual tries to do.

Things will 'buzz' again - but after being involved with FME for over a decade mate - you look forward to when they do... becasue there can... and will be - many months and sometimes years, like this. :)

How thoroughly depressing.

Firstly on a positive i would like to say a thanks to all who have been working hard to produce all the recent layouts. For example, Tommy C you are a legend!

I have virtually no technical know-how (I feel successful if i manage to get windows to boot) to be able to contribute anything more substantial to FME than the odd forum post. Like may others i only found the scene long after it reached its peak. That doesnt mean i'm not appreciative or i dont care.

A couple of questions off the top of my head that i hope are pertinent.

Amber: I can't personally load it on my laptop (graphics card too pants apparently) yet things around it seem very slow. Why is this?
MFME: What left is there to emulate?
MAME: Progress?

And given that thye've been involved in so much thats gone before where is wizard?

Now that fruit machines now largely come in touch screen format in the longer term the reel based versions will or are becoming obsolete. Given that backdrop the Emualtion of the reel based version may well take on even more importance and become more freely available in the longer term. What the scene does now is very relevant in prtotecting that future context.

...what harm would it do if the manufacturers let this site have a load of £25/£35 machines???,..... if would help "us people" practice before we went to play the machines in the wild, and if the roms of these machines were filled up to the brim (like it seems every emu'd machine on here is!),...then they wouldnt play the same as in the wild,so the manufacturers would still make money!!....

and how many places have £25'ers now anyway????

Amber nor can I so I can't help on that One zoom...

There's loads 'left to do' ....... some need ROM's, some need graphics etc.

Not that easy, what it is boils down to is the tech (language) they are written in....we have hundreds of ROMs ready-to-go.

The only techs that are emulatable are in the categories listed in the downloads.....at the moment ;)

sorry if i,ve offended anyone but i wouldn,t like this site to be lost forever, but as daryl says we,ve had blips like this before many times and hopefully it will pick up soon and i know certain techs can,t be emulated as yet, i was only asking about said forthcoming releases as said on top post but it would be nice if more people got involved somehow on another note can these two i found over at the bellfruit be emulated will need a decent flyer though as these pictures are pants blown up

theres nothing wrong with airing your views (just be prepared for public flaming!) MFME as is i guess is nearly ROM'ed and Dx'ed to almost completion - given the huge amount already done to what is left. Amber seems to have made an artificial light at the end of a very long tunnel - though im not exactly sure in terms of layouts what it can and cannot do.

Wizard once said (or words to the affect of) he would give time for Amber to settle on before he releases his own update. that said, the mame debarcle happened right in the middle of it so im not sure how it stands.

what we do have are roms to be found, Artwork to be done and Amber to be gripped.

the futures not exactly bright - but it could be amber for now?

You've not offended anyone vectra mate, and to be honest, the majority of the newer members here at FE are not here for the emulation, as such, to preserve fruit machines, but to see if they can beat the gambling system in the wild, which, I am sad to say, I have NEVER seen anyone master in all these years of emulation - and those that say they have, are most definitely liars!

You pretty much much have ALL the people who will be involved with FME here now, and as many of them are saying, there is no motivation, or resources to do anything different.

With regards to your files attached mate, as stated, there is a lack of resources, artwork etc - mainly due to the fact there are IC hoarders who won't release new artwork graphics, ROMS, etc. As you must be aware, the top layout creators will only work with top quality images that can be used for DXing, hence like Ploggy only occasionally releases a layout, but what quality they are! Tommy C, DAD, HTS, to name a few, feel the same I imagine, and that's why there is a lack of forthcoming, or completed WIP releases - because they have looked at the artwork, there is a problem with the settings in the emu, the ROMS are corrupt - numerous things that can stop any WIP being released for many months, and in some cases, years! lol

It will pick up mate, and once Guitar has done an update to Amber, to make it more stable for the majority of members to use on their computers, because Amber will blow the socks off MFME when in its final stage, you will find the Forthcoming Releases being transferred to New Releases, right, left and centre! ;) - because the motivation and the life will be back in FME once more! :)

Not an attack but i just find it very strange that wizard seemingly now has virtually no input into current FME.

As for DX's i understand the issues but does that mean that clasic layouts may be more possible insead?

As for the modern machines i cant stand the million and one deal or no deal clones and dont really care if they get emulated or not!

There is a lot of history - far too much to go into here - perhaps using the search for posts about Wizard here and at other FME sites - will bring you up to speed. :)

It just causes bad blood to bring up old arguments, and now is not the right time to do so. :)
