as per our discussion, i originally found this program to help with an issue i had in XP where the network icons would dissapear. what this program does is give you a list of options of parts of xp you want it to replair by defaulting them to a factory state.

awesome and small

Nice is there one for Win7 ? i ran a sfc/ scannow , report told me there was a certain amount of corrupt files and could not repair them.

Been noticing my PC is becoming slower and slower , might be time for a format.

General recomendation for servicing, finding and fixing faults, I tend to stick with JV16 Powertools, along with CCleaner (CCleaner is free to use), to sort general issues like this, and both work on win7, vista, and XP.

You can grab a copy of JV16 ast a trial direct from their site, and drop me a PM for a cough cure ;)

Having said that Nails, your solution does intrest me, whatever it is (Which I have now found out what it is) :)

EDIT..... having read up on what it is, XP Anti-Spy (Again, works on win7, vista, and XP) is another tool which can help, certanaly on the system tweek side of things (Also free)

Yeah me three , sounds ideal to rewrite all system 32 and Windows files without the need to format .. if thats what it does.

Although in having said that , some of the programs you have on your PC would probably no longer work as they have data contained within the registry and system 32 folder.
