Can't really help on the Windows 64 issue but the SP2 for XP is a known issue with MFME. Only advice at present is to uninstall SP2.

Have you tried running The emulators through Windows on Windows (WOW64) Emulation Layer??? its supposed to enable you to run 32bit applications on it....if the applications are 16bit..they wont run.
As for SP2 there is a reg fix that helps speed up the emulators....

More advice than this was posted on other forums, might have been Poundrun before it was deleted.
Several users have fixed the SP2 slow down problem in MFME by reducing Graphics Acceleration by one notch in Windows.
BFMulator crawling on SP2 may be solved by unticking "Use Bitmap Buffer" in configuration menu, exiting the emu and reloading.
Hope this helps.

i have a 3.2ghz 754 and a 939 3.5ghz system...
both complained with the free 64-bit windows system, and had to have xp re-installed on the main Hd, the sp2 was replaced with sp1 also on both systems.
Microsoft recon sp2 does not work in 1-10 pc`s at present. as for the struggle between either 754 or 939, the later is going to be a standard, and dual cpu ( 2 cpu`s on one chip) will be an amd standard next year.
as for compatability, your stuck in the mean time with a program that wil not work, unless the programmer re-programmes the code to address the new 64-bit extensions
(good luck)

AND.. the pc-express systems will not be released for AMD64 untill next year (although a dual 64 system has been seen in hong kong)
those hungry to get the fastest pc now, i recon get the new 775 pentium with the pc-express and 533mhz memory, those wishing to wait for the best, wait till next year and see the new AMD64 standard with pc-express (intel have the new range of em64 but its merely an extension, mostly common on Xeon server chips)
think im wrong?

Is that not the thing released on the 64DD for the Nintendo 64?
I am just curious as i was wondering whether or not it was ever released.

No, Longhorn is the next version of Windows after XP. Windows 64 I assume is the 64-bit version of Windows for the Itanium Processor.

Windows 64 is microcraps next gen server software for Itanium based dual chip servers...runs crap on single chip layouts....if the software doesnt run through its 32 bit emulation layer it aint ever going to run...
Its fine for servers, graphics based machines but not much use for games etc....go figure....

I was going to say, all this talk about 'Itaniums', and noone had mentioned the Athlon 64s. Anyway, I wouldn't touch Windows when Longhorn was released, I'll be back on Linux Mandrake

Anyway, this is always the way that technology goes, but, do you [i.e does anyone] actually notice any difference in performance between the 64bit Athlon and the 32bit versions? I would guess that until 64bit software is released there is little point in getting it.
Having said that, the spotty herbert in Currys trying to flog me the most expensive laptop with £400 guarentee obviously thought it was the best thing since sliced bread. Then I go into pixel processing pipelines, VPU clock speeds, memory architecture and bus speeds e.t.c. and they realise that I'm not the average 'sucker', and walk off

When will they stop pretending that a 128mb Integrated 9100 Radeon [the 9100IGP] will perform as well as the 128mb 9800XT?!! [which is already outdated

IMHO in real world gaming there would be no real improvement, even with games like Doom 3. TBH, games have only recently started making proper use of AGP 8X, so having 2x the bandwidth will be great when fully utilised, but at the moment, there isn't any need.
I'm not using PCI express...in fact, I'm back to this f**king SIS O/B 64mb ShadowRAM crap...won't even run the FFXI benchmark, Simpsons H&R or ZSnes above about 20FPS
