Hi lads,
I have a Mazooma Hot Property that has suddenly started displaying 'Low Battery 9A'. I've looked in the manual and can't seem to find anything about batteries so was wondering if anyone has any ideas? Without sounding stupid, I don't even know where the battery would be - I just play the thing not look inside. How much would a replacement battery cost?
Cheers in advance.

Almost 100% sure the battery has failed on your board, but it could also mean it's leaking, which is quite serious, as they often damage boards.
Contact Alex @ aaamusements (He's a member here), for advice and a replacement battery.
In general, batteries cost around a fiver to replace.

Battery is located on the big main MPU board, will usually have "Varta" on it and be green (sometimes blue). As above, if it's flat it may well soon be leaking, or already doing so!

On the game card? You mean the MPU board?

There's probably a battery there but as mentioned above, it's likely had it.

Thanks, yes I am aware of that.
But this being a Scorpion 4, I didn't think it would. Of course if you can prove me wrong, I will happily stand corrected.

Scorp 4..... be on the mainboard as Alex put's it.
Pic from one of my scorp4 machines here of the mainboard, with green battery in situ....
Your board may only have one CPU (This board has 2), but both cover scorp4.

Sorry for the delay. I've located the green battery on the MPU with 'Varta' on the front - it doesn't seem to be leaking so that's good news I suppose. I haven't really inspected it closely, but does it just clip in or is it soldered on?
Cheers

Soldered on bud with 3 pins, but quite easy to remove, either with a soldering iron, or just snip the 3 legs off.

Cheers Stan... better get in the loft and hunt one down! So these batteries aren't that costly then? Any reputable sellers anyone can recommend?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Im sure the newer scorp 4 did start adding batts to the prog card, as the scorp 4 mpu needed to be upgraded to run them.
Machines like Dond BR and CC entry time is about right, think thats 2008 ish.
If you add a non compliant scorp 4 mpu the with a batt added prog card the machine throws up 9-xx errors.

For batts, have a word with Alex (aaamusements), either via PM, or on his site: http://www.aaamusements.co.uk/

Quite possible, even when the mandatory board updates was done (As bazpeep can tell you), but other than JPM Impact series (Done on the proc card, hence why they are such a pain in the arse to get spare working cards), I don't know of any other machine hardware that uses memory batteries in any other place, except the mainboard.

I will try and grab a pic if that helps.

As I said earlier, could very well be different on more newer revisions, but noting the age of this machine, I feel fairly certain that it's on pre mandatory update version of the board, and as such, would be on the board.

To be fair ive just realised i have one for sale myself so could look - I cant think of its age in relation to that update.
In responce to your last reply i think i read it a touch too quick and never process what you fully said.
