Sweet, I can access the .co.uk page, but not the .com from college :D

Anyway, I use 320kbps, but it depends on the music. Anything with a wide frequency band needs a higher bitrate IMHO. Also, on 320, you can still get around 4 to 5 albums [more if they are below 74 mins] onto a CD.

128kbits gives cymbols which sound rather 'fluttery', and distorts the guitars into one big mess on my Iron Maiden collection

[which is now at 3.9 GB of mp3] :)

Anyway, if you are going to be DJing, I'd DEFNIATELY go no lower than 256. Once you push the volume up, you WILL notice some major distortion on a 128kbit!!

Uhh....you do realise that thats just for Iron Maiden?

You forgot AC/DC, Judas Priest, Ozzy [Solo + Black Sabbath], Whitesnake [for dad, not me :)], plenty of other weird stuff.... I have 33gb of MP3, which I build up and share over Direct Connect.

So I have to buy a new 240gb HDD just to store all of my DVD Images and MP3 and other audio on. Mind you, a friend of mine at Uni has about 3 terabytes.....THATS when you start to get problems :p

I do have some duplicates, the reason being that some are different bitrates, i.e on Edward the Great, the track might be 160kbits [for my MP3 players], but might be 320kbits on Piece of Mind [Flight of Icarus being the track in question...]
