I've tried to install jpemu1.42 and when it comes to running it i get a message about sound Dsound.dll.

This is a DirectX file (for sound unsuprisingly)
The questions are
1. Do you have sound capability on your computer
2. Do you have DirectX installed (windowsupdate.microsoft.com)
3. Why are you using 1.42, you should update it to 1.45 using the patch.
