Hi all

I have just brought fruit machine 'Pound Stretcher by ACE - £4 jackpot for £80 - made in 1987'

First of all did I get a bargain and secondly it has given me inspiration to turn my summerhouse into a late 1980's bar, so what do you remember of the pubs in the late 80's / early 90's (apart from the bandit), what you would put in my bar any ideas of where to get them from.

Cheers!!!

The original Donkey Kong video game would be on my top 10 list, and if you sell your beer at 1980 prices we will all want an invite.

wayne, your best bet for bar relics/memorabilia would be to have a sniff around your local car boot sale - i swear by them and have picked up many a bargain ;)

If you want bar items, contact your local Camera (campaign for real ale) group. They get loads of it and sell it off for charity. I got optics (about a dozen) optic brackets, ice bucket, bar towels, around 300 beear mats and a dozen pint glasses for £20 about five years ago. Still got some of the beer mats, but sadly the bar is gone, made way for my railway.

Come here to post jokes, oh and to play the occasional frutie.

Don't forget the special red cider 99p a ltr. one bottle was enough to get me wasted.

On a side note you want to get spme ashtrays that are made from wade. There was some great ones back in the day, the carling one was a good one. Also a pinball machine, we had on in the local think it was adams family or something like that.

easy answer - a keg of beer called party 7 !!!!

those were the days, you had to open both sides with a tin opener at the same time or it went off! heard they found an unopened party7 on a building site - they called in the bomb squads to defuse it!!

Party 7's rocked man. you could only buy them in the pubs around our way. Many a party attended with a Party 7 under my arm. Happy days.

Im not sure of the decor yet, (more googling to do), but im sure flock was a hit in the 1980s

Ive got a regency jukebox cd player - im sure (and hope they were late 80's early 90's),

Quick question does anyone know when the £4.80 jackpots were introduced?

The first one I can remember seeing was back in 1989, Barcrests's Take Two, several others soon followed like Cash Attraction by BF\M.
